Eagle Farm hosts a quality Saturday program on October 10, with a mix of three-year-old, benchmark and staying races across the card.

Several progressive runners bring strong recent form into the meeting, while the Queensland Cup adds further interest late in the program.

Our Daily Racing Multi brings together leading selections from multiple programs.

Eagle Farm Tips October 10

DrinkWise QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap Tips (Race 4)

Eagle Farm Value Bets - Race 4 No. 1 Ashkirk & No. 4 Unloading

Two gallopers who make plenty of appeal in this three-year-old handicap are Ashkirk and Unloading, with the former a surprise not to be more prominent in the early market.

The Matthew Dunn-trained Ashkirk was terrific late on debut at Grafton in March and has really come on during his first three-year-old preparation, winning all three starts this campaign and working through the grades in style with a country maiden victory, a provincial Class 1 success and, most recently, the Toowoomba Guineas.

He remains effectively at 57kg after Jett Newman’s claim, with the apprentice back aboard after partnering him to his second-up Ipswich victory, and given his pattern of settling back before launching late, the spacious Eagle Farm circuit looks ideal for Ashkirk at the $4-plus available early.

Unloading is his own worst enemy with his racing manners, but there is little doubt the youngster possesses plenty of talent, having started favourite first-up before refusing to settle and subsequently returning to the trials.

His sole victory came on debut at Eagle Farm and he should improve from that first-up outing, with the return to this circuit another positive and a double-figure quote making him worth keeping on side.

BM78 Handicap Tips (Race 5)

Eagle Farm Best Bet - Race 5 No. 8 Samarelle

This looks like smart placement from the John O’Shea and Tom Charlton yard, with Samarelle heading north after receiving a much-needed confidence boost second-up at Warwick Farm on September 23.

The Savabeel mare came from back in the field to record a soft victory in that BM78, producing the fastest closing sectionals of the race, and the form was franked when runner-up Storm Season bolted in under 60.5kg on Monday.

That mile victory followed an encouraging return by Samarelle at Warwick Farm on September 2 when she finished second behind Queen’s Gamble, who completed a double with that win and has been competitive subsequently, including a fourth in last Saturday’s Group 1 Flight Stakes.

Samarelle’s rating allows her to work through these lower benchmarks for now and this does not look any tougher than what she faced last time in Sydney, while Anna Roper’s claim sees her carry 55kg, which is 2kg less than she had second-up.

There should still be further improvement to come third-up and the extra furlong looks ideal, giving Samarelle every opportunity to record a double.

Ladbrokes More On Tote Class 6 Handicap Tips (Race 8)

Eagle Farm Next Best Bet - Race 8 No. 9 Sir Winnie

The least-exposed runner in this Class 6 is the Rex Lipp-trained Sir Winnie, a son of Churchill who has already put together a tidy record of four wins and two seconds from nine appearances, including a brave return over 1300m at Toowoomba.

He has improved sharply with a run under the belt in both previous preparations, most notably during the autumn when putting together a hat-trick second, third and fourth-up, including a mile victory at Eagle Farm.

That campaign began with an unlucky Ipswich effort after covering ground throughout, but he was able to bounce off that performance immediately, which gives him a similarly favourable profile second-up here.

His only major disappointment and sole finish outside the top four came when ninth-of-13 on April 25 on a Soft 7, with Sir Winnie pulling up with a slow recovery and connections also noting that the testing conditions had not suited.

This is not a weak race against more exposed rivals, but Sir Winnie possesses as much upside as anything in the field and, down in the weights again, can push forward and make his own luck under Angela Jones, who stays aboard after partnering him throughout his winning run earlier this year.

Cricks Highway Queensland Cup Tips (Race 9)

Eagle Farm Roughie - Race 9 No. 2 Sun Worshipper

Although Sun Worshipper has been well held in all three runs this season, those appearances have largely been about building her fitness after a freshen-up, beginning with two runs over the mile at Doomben before stepping up sharply in distance.

The Matt Kropp-trained mare tackled the 2000m Toowoomba Cup on September 26 and was completely unsuited by the race shape after being taken back from a wide draw, held up and left without the momentum needed in a race where those within striking distance were advantaged.

There was still merit in the performance given the circumstances and she now has a much stronger platform for the rise to 2400m, while a kinder draw gives Taylor Marshall more options early.

Sun Worshipper was an Eagle Farm winner on January 3 and produced consistent form through the late autumn and winter carnival, highlighted by a Listed runner-up finish here over 2100m, an Ipswich Cup placing and a fourth in the Caloundra Cup.

That Caloundra Cup form has since been franked strongly by runner-up So You Are, who has won his past two starts at stakes level in Sydney, and while 2400m remains a slight query for Sun Worshipper, the addition of pacifiers and a string of competitive staying ratings give her the profile to run a big race at odds.
