The 2026 Caulfield Guineas brings together the leading Sydney and Melbourne three-year-old form lines over 1600m at Caulfield on Saturday, with the Golden Rose, Caulfield Guineas Prelude and Stutt Stakes all strongly represented.

Warwoven brings the standout Group 1 form after his dominant Golden Rose victory, while Blind Raise has been faultless this preparation and Tron Bolt returns to the mile after placing his juvenile Group 1 credentials on the board last season.

For the 2026 Caulfield Guineas, Warwoven is a $2.20 favourite with Picklebet.

2026 Caulfield Guineas Tips

2026 Caulfield Guineas Best Bet - Warwoven

Progress through the spring has been the defining feature of Warwoven’s preparation, with the Bjorn Baker-trained colt improving from a solid San Domenico Stakes return to win the Run To The Rose before exploding in the Group 1 Golden Rose third-up on September 26.

That Golden Rose performance was the one that really elevated him, with Warwoven putting 3.16 lengths on a field containing Guest House, Tron Bolt and Campione D’Italia, with several proven Group 1 performers among them.

Guest House had arrived off a record-breaking San Domenico Stakes win, yet Warwoven turned the tables emphatically, and the way he relaxed before producing that acceleration suggested the step to 1600m is unlikely to trouble him.

His first Melbourne trip and first look at racing anti-clockwise are new variables, but there is no obvious stamina concern in the pedigree, with dam Needle And Thread a Group 2 Royal Stakes winner over 2000m.

The deeper family also includes 2012 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Solemia, so while Warwoven initially looked more like a speed horse, there is plenty underneath the page to support him getting the mile, and his improvement this preparation makes him the one they have to beat.
2026 Caulfield Guineas Next Best Bet - Blind Raise

Leading the Victorian charge is Blind Raise, who has built an excellent record of four wins from five starts and had genuine excuses in his only defeat at Eagle Farm at the end of his first preparation.

A slow recovery and nasal discharge were noted following that run, but he returned in style this spring by winning the McKenzie Stakes before producing an authoritative display in the Caulfield Guineas Prelude.

The Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young-trained gelding won that 1400m lead-up by 2.75 lengths on September 19, remaining composed when pressure arrived earlier than expected before putting the race away with something still in hand.

That performance gives him the strongest local lead-up form, while the Caulfield experience is another important tick as he moves to the mile for the first time.

Barrier two gives Blake Shinn the chance to take up the running, and while Warwoven brings the stronger Group 1 Sydney form, Blind Raise has done everything asked of him this preparation and clearly shapes as the major danger.
2026 Caulfield Guineas Value Bet - Call Me Coach

Mark Zahra and the Anthony and Sam Freedman stable always command respect in these major races, with Zahra boasting a 19% career strike rate for the yard. We only need to go back to 2019, when he partnered the Anthony Freedman-trained Super Seth to a memorable Caulfield Guineas victory over Alligator Blood.

Call Me Coach faces a sharp rise in class, but the unbeaten son of Dundeel could hardly have been more impressive in winning a Hawkesbury Super Maiden before heading south and justifying a short quote over 1400m at Cranbourne on September 25.

That Cranbourne victory came by 1.5 lengths under Zahra, taking his record to two wins from two starts as he now makes the jump straight into Group 1 company.

There is also enough in the pedigree to suggest the mile will suit, with Call Me Coach by Dundeel and his dam Mother’s Mercy a three-quarter sister to Australian Oaks winner Autumn Angel.

Whether the Guineas has arrived too early against more seasoned three-year-olds who have already had previous preparations under their belts remains the obvious query, but Call Me Coach brings genuine X-factor and more upside than most of those the each-way contenders.
