Read on below for our best bets and reasoning behind today's selections.
Flavio Cobolli vs Zachary Svajda Prediction
- Cobolli has been on fire this tournament and I think he ends the shock run of Svajda rather convincingly here
- Svajda had only won one tour-level match on European clay before this tournament, but somehow finds himself in the R16 after wins over Walton, Popyrin and Fran Cerundolo
- Svajda has a 0-6 record vs top 20 players and I just feel he runs out of steam after an emotional run so far
- Cobolli has won 12 of his 17 matches on clay this season & has been dominant this tournament, winning all nine sets he's played - including dismantling Tien in the previous round
- Cobolli is 1-0 in Grand Slam R16 matches after beating Cilic at this stage of Wimbledon last year
Matteo Berrettini vs Juan Manuel Cerundolo Prediction
- Great to see Berrettini back playing injury-free and I'd argue he's the favourite to advance to the final from the wide open top half of the draw
- This section was blown apart by Cerundolo, who took advantage of an ailing Sinner in the heat and backed it up with a marathon victory over Landaluce in almost six hours in a fifth-set tiebreak
- Berrettini also went five sets with Comesana, but Cerundolo's match was more phyiscal and taxing, plus he has zero experience at this stage of a major before
- Berrettini has gone 5-3 in slam R16 matches, with all three defeats coming vs top 20 players
- Berrettini made the RG quarter-finals in his most recent appearance at the tournament all the way back in 2021 and I'm confident the Italian gets the job done here - the only thing that stops him is his body
Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Alejandro Tabilo Prediction
- With so many top seeds crashing out, it's a little surprising to see Auger-Aliassime still alive, but the Canadian is doing a good job of keeping his composure with a very real shot of Grand Slam glory within touching distance
- I just don't fancy Tabilo here - he's had an extremely soft draw, taking care of Majchrzak before receiving a walkover from Vacherot. He then outlasted a fatigued 17-year-old in Kouame in four sets
- Tabilo has a 3-10 record against top 10 players, with none of those wins coming at a slam
- Auger-Aliassime is admittedly far from reliable, but he was a dominant 6-3 6-3 winner in their only previous meeting and he's got far more experience in these situations - he should be getting the job done here
Diane Parry vs Maja Chwalinska Prediction
- What an opportunity for both players to make a maiden Grand Slam quarter-final - I think this has to be considered a 50-50 contest, so more than happy to side with the higher-ranked Parry at her home slam with a +3.5 start
- We've made some nice profit with Chwalinska this tournament, but I'm hopping off the train now - the qualifier had never beaten a top 60 player before this event and showed some signs of slowing down in a three-set win over the slumping Sakkari in the previous round
- Parry meanwhile stunned top 10 player Anisimova in her previous round and it's not the first time she's landed a big scalp on this stage, also knocking out defending RG champion Krejcikova in 2023
- The Frenchwoman will have immense crowd support - similar to that of Lois Boisson last year as she made a memorable run to the semi-finals. This feels like Parry's turn
French Open Day 9 Multi
- Berrettini vs Cerundolo: Berrettini -2.5 @ $1.85
- Auger-Aliassime vs Tabilo: Auger-Aliassime -2.5 @ $1.80
- Arnaldi vs Tiafoe: Arnaldi Win @ $1.98
- Sabalenka vs Osaka: Over 20.5 Games @ $1.85
