Their head-to-head favors Sabalenka 2-1, including a recent Madrid three-setter. Aryna Sabalenka vs Naomi Osaka Tips, Prediction & Live Stream
It doesn't get much bigger than this for a Grand Slam fourth round as World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka and four-time major winner Naomi Osaka collide on Monday night.
It's the first time since 2023 that a women's singles match has taken centre stage on Court Philippe Chatrier as the night prime time match, but this clash certainly makes up for lost time. Sabalenka is continuing her pursuit of a maiden Roland Garros title and has advanced to the fourth round without dropping a set, while Osaka is into the second week of the French Open for the first time after securing a marathon victory over the rising Iva Jovic in the previous round.
It promises to be a cracking contest as the pair square off for the fourth time - with two of the previous three going to a deciding set, including last month in Madrid.
Osaka has improved her clay game considerably over the last two years and I think she's decent value at plus money to grab a set here. The former World No. 1 did just that in Madrid and she's really got nothing to lose in her first ever R16 match at Roland Garros.
However, Sabalenka has an intimidating record in Grand Slam R16 matches and the No. 1 just has that extra level she can draw upon. With the likes of Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff and Elena Rybakina out, she won't get a better chance to win a French Open title - backing Sabalenka to edge this out in three.
"I feel like the last one in Madrid was really tight match, was great level," Sabalenka said of facing Osaka again. "She really stepped in and raised her level in the last match. I'm just ready for the fight. I'm ready to go out there to fight for that match, for that win. Ready to do anything it takes to get the win."

Aryna Sabalenka Form Analysis
- 2026 Record: 30-3
- French Open Record: 25-9
- Current Ranking: No. 1
- Career-High Ranking: No. 1 (2023)
Sabalenka remains the dominant and undisputed best player in the world and she will be determined to translate that level into a first French Open title over the next week.
There's already been Grand Slam heartbreak this year after Sabalenka went down in three sets to Elena Rybakina in the Australian Open final.
The 28-year-old bounced back strongly to win back-to-back titles at Indian Wells and Miami, but her initial transition to clay was underwhelming.
Indeed, Sabalenka was knocked out early in Madrid and Rome by Hailey Baptiste and Sorana Cirstea respectively.
However, Sabalenka has been ruthless on her way to the second week of Roland Garros, sweeping aside Jessica Bouzas Maneiro, Elsa Jacquemot and Daria Kasatkina in straight sets.
Naomi Osaka Form Analysis
- 2026 Record: 12-5
- French Open Record: 11-7
- Current Ranking: No. 16
- Career-High Ranking: No. 1 (2019)
It's been another injury-riddled campaign for Osaka, but she maintains a spot inside the top 20 and has looked strong on clay over the last month.
Osaka pushed Sabalenka to three sets in Madrid and also played well to make the fourth round of Rome, where she went down to Iga Swiatek.
The four-time major champion has continued her impressive form, reaching the second week of Roland Garros for the first time in her career.
Osaka needed a tiebreak in each of her opening two matches against Laura Siegemund and Donna Vekic before overcoming Iva Jovic 7-6(5), 6-7(3), 6-4 in a match that lasted two minutes shy of three hours.
It was the first time Osaka had defeated a top 30 player at the French Open.
