Autumn Glow brings an unbeaten record of seven wins into the Golden Eagle, her latest success coming in the Epsom Handicap at Randwick. The Chris Waller-trained mare handled the rise in grade with ease and has since had a quiet Randwick trial.

She’s developed a flawless record through measured placement and now looks to extend that streak over 1500m.

At $2 with EliteBet, Autumn Glow is favourite to win the 2025 Golden Eagle.

Angel Capital ($6) was arguably the run of The Everest outside of Ka Ying Rising, finishing well after finding traffic in the straight. That followed a luckless run in the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes when held up for much of the race but still finding the line strongly late.

Trained by Chris Waller, the four-year-old continues to perform well at the top level this spring and now steps to 1500m for the Golden Eagle in career-best form.

Linebacker ($6) performed strongly second-up when claiming The Silver Eagle, while the John O’Shea & Tom Charlton-trained galloper was a Group 1 winner third-up last preparation when taking out the Randwick Guineas before a luckless run in the Doncaster Mile.

He’s proven effective around this distance range and looks to be peaking again at the right time, shaping as one of the leading hopes.

Panja Tower ($6) has won four of six career starts, including a Group 3 triumph on August 24 in Japan. The Japanese raider adds further international depth to this year’s field, following the success of Obamburumai, who won the Golden Eagle for Japan in 2023.

He arrives with proven form and winning momentum, creating strong interest as another visitor from Japan targeting one of Sydney’s richest features.

The Golden Eagle Winners

The Golden Eagle is one of Australia's newest races, which has given a huge incentive for owners to resist allure from studs and continue racing colts into their four-year-old season.

Ran over the distance of 1500m at Rosehill Racecourse, the prizemoney is now worth $10 million and was run for the first time in 2019.

Kolding (2019), Colette (2020), I'm Thunderstruck (2021), I Wish I Win (2022), Obamburumai (2023) and Lake Forest (2024) have won the six editions of The Golden Eagle.
