Happy Valley hosts an eight-race Wednesday night program, with the card featuring a mix of Class contests across the evening.
Several runners arrive second-up or fresh from encouraging trials, while a number of lightly raced horses have the chance to improve with more favourable draws and race setups.

Happy Valley Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 10 Precision Hope
It has been a solid start to the season for the David Hayes stable, including a winning double at Sha Tin last Sunday, and he combines with Alexis Badel aboard the consistent but frustrating maiden Precision Hope.
Still searching for a breakthrough after 10 starts, the five-year-old improved noticeably as last season progressed, with his best performances coming over this track-and-trip, including half-length defeats on May 13 and June 10 before finishing four lengths away in third prior to a spell.
He was a well-supported favourite for his September 9 return and, although the fourth-of-10 result was slightly disappointing given market expectations, the shape of the race worked against him and he was still beaten only 1.25 lengths.
Precision Hope returned to the trials on September 21 with blinkers applied and produced an excellent piece of work, coming from back in the field to travel strongly through the line under a hold before continuing to work particularly well past the post.
Badel has built a good rapport with Precision Hope and was also aboard in that latest trial, while another low draw should provide an economical run in a very winnable race where the first-time blinkers may supply the killer punch he has been lacking.

Happy Valley Value Bet - Race 5 No. 9 Golden Ace
There was plenty to like about Golden Ace’s only race-day appearance at Sha Tin late last season, where he struck interference at the start, raced greenly towards the rear and was then held up near the 200m before flashing home for third of 13.
Both trials leading into his return have contained encouragement, with the four-year-old not knocked around in either heat and again given a quiet time when fifth of eight at Happy Valley in the latest under Brenton Avdulla, who stays aboard on Wednesday.
Caspar Fownes has long been a stable worth respecting at Happy Valley, and his strong recent record at the circuit adds further interest to a lightly raced gelding who should have plenty of improvement still to come.
By Victoria Derby winner Ace High and out of a Pentire mare, Golden Ace is bred to appreciate considerably more ground than Wednesday’s 1000m, so whether this sharp trip is ideal fresh remains the obvious query.
He could easily be the best horse to come from this race and, at an each-way price, Golden Ace can settle off what should be a genuine tempo before looking to unleash the strong finish he displayed on debut.
Yip Fat Handicap Tips (Race 7)
Happy Valley Roughie - Race 7 No. 10 Quantum Cloud
Quantum Cloud made an encouraging Hong Kong debut for the Brett Crawford stable at Sha Tin on February 14, overcoming an awkward beginning to finish fourth of 11 over 1200m and only two lengths from the winner in a race that subsequently produced multiple winners.
His second appearance over the same course and distance on March 15 was much plainer when eighth of 12, although winners did emerge from that race and connections elected to give him time afterwards.
Returning from a short break on July 1, the gelding produced a much better performance when beaten three lengths after enduring a tough run from barrier 11 and racing wide without cover for much of the 1200m contest.
There was also enough to like about his September 21 trial leading into this return, and Wednesday gives Quantum Cloud his first genuinely favourable low draw since arriving in Hong Kong, which should allow Lyle Hewitson to provide him with a much more economical passage.
With less weight, upside into the new season and a much kinder setup, Quantum Cloud can be competitive at double figures, while early favourite Target Audience remains the obvious danger with his powerful finish despite often needing luck.

Happy Valley Best Bet - Race 8 No. 1 Dazzling Fit
Class took Dazzling Fit a long way when he resumed from a six-month break over this track-and-trip on September 16, with the David Eustace-trained gelding overcoming some traffic issues to finish runner-up behind the heavily backed Pope Cody.
Eustace had indicated before that return that the five-year-old would improve significantly with the run, giving him an obvious platform to take another step forward second-up on Wednesday.
That first-up performance also gave Dazzling Fit his first race-day experience at Happy Valley and he appeared to handle the tight circuit particularly well under Zac Purton, who stays aboard.
His previous campaign contained some strong references through the Hong Kong Derby series, including competitive performances over 1800m before a strong 2000m proved too much in the Derby itself.
With the benefit of race fitness, proven Happy Valley experience and Purton retaining the ride, Dazzling Fit looks capable of turning the tables on his first-up conqueror, with a crucial 3kg weight swing in his favour on Pope Cody.
