A solid first run for the new stable gives Goochee Gal some appeal here, with the experienced five-year-old producing a number of good efforts in defeat last season before joining current connections.
Racing on a Soft 5 at Mount Gambier last month, she finished second at big odds over 1200m after being ridden with restraint in an eight-runner maiden.
She stayed on nicely to be beaten just over a length and a half, and although the form from that race is still largely untested, the performance suggested the step back up in distance should suit.
Melissa Julius, who was aboard last time, reunites with the daughter of Sir Prancealot and an inside barrier should allow her to enjoy an economical run.
A drying track should hold no concerns for Heath Montgomerie’s representative and, although vulnerable to less exposed rivals, Goochee Gal rates as a value chance to break through for her first win.

Mount Gambier Next Best Bet - Race 3 No. 2 Moonraker
Three consecutive placings earlier this preparation showed Moonraker was racing consistently, with the first of those coming when runner-up over 1100m at Morphettville in June.
All three placings came in Heavy conditions, confirming the five-year-old is comfortable when there is plenty of give in the ground.
He was slightly disappointing when only fifth over the same distance at Geelong last time, although that effort came at BM66 level and the form has subsequently worked out well.
The second and eighth from that Geelong contest both won at their following starts, while the drop back to BM62 company represents a more suitable assignment for Daniel Bowman’s representative.
Moonraker is tactically versatile enough to overcome barrier eight and, although the rise in distance provides a slight query, he looks capable of making a winning first appearance at Mount Gambier.

Two wins from as many starts this season have Min Kiata in excellent order after he returned from a sixth-placed effort at Mount Gambier in August.
The latest of those victories came here last month when he led from barrier seven and proved too strong in an eight-runner BM66 over 1200m on a Soft 5 surface.
He had been ridden with slightly more restraint when winning over the same trip at Casterton at his previous start, showing enough tactical versatility to suggest barrier six will pose no concerns.
Wayne Walters’ representative is also proven when there is give in the ground, with all three of his previous victories coming on rain-affected surfaces.
Kate Walters has ridden Min Kiata in all nine career starts and, with the rise in distance looking suitable, the combination can make it three consecutive victories on Wednesday.
The Border Watch Rating 0-56 Handicap Tips (Race 5)
Mount Gambier Roughie - Race 5 No. 7 Unique Poet
Course-and-distance form is the main attraction with Unique Poet, who broke through here on Heavy ground when second-up this preparation.
He put two-and-a-half lengths on his rivals that day, while his best subsequent performance also came at Mount Gambier when narrowly beaten into second over this distance in a five-runner 0-54.
The gelding was well beaten at Warrnambool last time, although that run came in stronger company over 1000m and can be forgiven given the different setup.
Dropping back in grade and returning to a more suitable distance both work in his favour, particularly given his best efforts this campaign have come around this circuit.
Barrier width is the obvious concern and he has not always been the most consistent galloper, but with Andrew Stead back aboard after partnering him here last month, Unique Poet can surprise at a bigger price.
