Another Wil (barrier 3) claimed Group 1 success over this track and trip in February, taking out the C.F. Orr Stakes when defeating Mr Brightside first-up.
The Ciaron Maher-trained gelding tends to strike early in his campaigns, boasting three wins and a second from four fresh attempts, while he’s also saluted in three of his second-up outings.
Chris Waller elected to withdraw Fangirl (barrier 5) from last Saturday’s Winx Stakes due to the heavy surface, though rain is forecast again in Melbourne this week.
The four-time Group 1 winner has a strong fresh record (four wins and four placings from nine first-up starts) and ended her autumn with victory in the Group 1 Queen of the Turf Stakes.
Antino (barrier 8) firmed in Cox Plate betting following stylish victories in the Hollindale Stakes and Doomben Cup, underlining his versatility and sharp fresh record.
The Queenslander resumed with a fourth in the 2024 Memsie Stakes, while his peak came last spring when bolting in by 6.5 lengths in the Toorak Handicap before adding a May double over further trips.
Mr Brightside (barrier 9) thrives at Caulfield, with six wins, four placings and a fourth from 11 appearances at the track, including six wins and two seconds from eight runs over 1400m.
The nine-time Group 1 star usually comes to hand quickly and will be out to rebound after finishing last in the Champions Mile in Hong Kong back in April.
Tom Kitten (barrier 4) was luckless in his February return over this course and distance when runner-up to Mr Brightside in the Group 1 Futurity Stakes.
He made amends second-up with victory in the All-Star Mile and, although winless in three subsequent Sydney starts, he remained competitive throughout.
Treasurethe Moment (barrier 1) has been nothing short of dominant, winning nine of 11 starts and finishing second in the other two.
The Matt Laurie-trained mare has pieced together eight consecutive wins, highlighted by a VRC Oaks and Australian Oaks double, and she may prove even more effective over shorter distances this campaign.
11 runners make up the final field for the 2025 Memsie Stakes.
