Joao Fonseca vs Dino Prizmic Tips, Prediction & Live Stream - Blockbuster showdown between rising stars
Rising stars Joao Fonseca and Dino Prizmic are set for an electrifying French Open second-round clash. Both have impressed with strong recent form and straight-set wins in the opening round. While Fonseca brings big weapons and attacking flair, Prizmic’s physicality and endurance may prove decisive, especially in the Paris heat. With a potential third-round matchup against Novak Djokovic looming, expect a closely fought, high-quality contest. The edge goes to Prizmic in five sets, thanks to his proven stamina and recent clay-court success.

Joao Fonseca vs Dino Prizmic Tips, Prediction & Live Stream
It's shaping as a potential early tournament classic as young guns Joao Fonseca and Dino Prizmic square off for the first time, with a spot in the French Open third round up for grabs on Wednesday.
Don't be surprised if these two players are competing for Grand Slam finals in a couple of years - Fonseca and Prizmic are among the brightest young talents in the sport and there's an added layer of intrigue for this encounter, with that being the winner will likely face Novak Djokovic in the third round. Prizmic famously beat Djokovic in Rome earlier this month, while Fonseca would face the 24-time major winner for the first time.
I do believe this could be an epic. Fonseca has bounced back from an injury-plagued start to the season and has been operating at a very high level since March, while Prizmic has compiled a very impressive 20-6 record on clay, including taking that aforementioned scalp of Djokovic. Both players are in good form after straight set opening round victories in Paris.
Fonseca has the more explosive game with the bigger weapons, but I think Prizmic holds the edge from a physical standpoint and with rally tolerance - two very important components of clay-court tennis, especially in the heat. If it's a long match - which I believe it will turn into - then I'm leaning towards the Croatian to outlast his Brazilian rival and edge this in five.

Joao Fonseca Form Analysis
- 2026 Record: 11-9
- French Open Record: 3-1
- Current Ranking: No. 30
- Career-High Ranking: No. 24 (Nov 2025)
After a back injury derailed his start to the season, Fonseca has made up for lost time and entered Roland Garros back inside the top 30.
The 19-year-old put together four good tournaments on the bounce, reaching the R16 in Indian Wells, second round in Miami, quarter-finals in Monte-Carlo and quarter-finals in Munich, losing to top 10 players in all of them.
However, Fonseca's momentum slowed after that, going down to fellow young gun Rafael Jodar early in Madrid, while he was also eliminated in a final-set tiebreak in his Rome opener against Hamad Medjedovic.
Fonseca pulled out of Hamburg with a wrist injury, but showed no signs of that problem in a 7-6(6) 6-4 6-2 opening round win in Paris over Luka Pavlovic, saving a set point in the opener.
"I was happy the way I fought today to the end," Fonseca said. "I was a set point down, and I played well. The nerves were everywhere, but I could handle it. Very happy with the way I fought."
Dino Prizmic Form Analysis
- 2026 Record: 11-7
- French Open Record: 1-0
- Current Ranking: No. 72
- Career-High Ranking: No. 71 (May 2026)
After various injuries halted his progress up the rankings, Prizmic has got his body right and making up for lost time - and if he maintains this level, he should be around the top 30 by season's end.
The 20 year-old has made his move at tour-level this clay swing, qualifying for the main draw in Madrid and beating Ben Shelton on his way to the third round.
Prizmic went one round further in Rome, once again qualifying before conquering Djokovic to reach the R16. The Croatian also made the final of the strong Monza Challenger, where only the in-form Raphael Collignon stopped him.
Making his Roland Garros main draw debut, Prizmic was on fire in a 6-1 6-1 6-3 demolition of Michael Zheng in his opening round.
