North Melbourne Kangaroos AFL 2025 Team Preview, Predictions & Player Movement
The North Melbourne Kangaroos are set for the 2025 AFL season with predictions placing them at a 17th finish and a projected win total of 4. Despite a tough schedule, there are high hopes for improvements, especially with young talent and new recruits like Caleb Daniel and Jack Darling. Luke Davies-Uniacke stands out as a key player, poised to impact as a Brownlow contender. However, addressing the team's defensive weaknesses remains critical to truly shifting their competitive landscape.

Where the North Melbourne Kangaroos finish in 2025: 17
Although they are expected to finish around the mark they have the last few seasons, the Kangaroos should be more competitive and snag a few more wins than they have done.
Finishing seventeenth, North Melbourne were well off the pace and their disastrous defence saw them concede over 100 points in 18 of 23 matches last season. The worry is that this type of statistic doesn’t take just one offseason to fix and the club didn’t do much to fix the problem in the offseason personnel wise.
Projected Win total: 4
Projecting North Melbourne to see some improvement in on their win total is a given, but with such a tough schedule it is impossible to increase it by more than just one win.
The Kangaroos play Richmond twice and West Coast once which are all possible victories, they then could snag a win here or there but not much more than that in reality, unless an unexpected club bombs.
Best Contender for Brownlow Medal: Luke Davies-Uniacke
Luke Davies-Uniacke is arguably the most important player at the Roos and the North Melbourne organisation will be desperate to lock him into a long-term contract before he becomes the most sought-after free agent at the end of the year.
The 25-year-old played every game for the Kangaroos in 2024 and topped all his career-bests as his development curve continues to spike.
What’s to like
North Melbourne went out and found some experience in the summer and will start 2025 better for it. The young talent is all over the park for the Kangaroos, they just need to surround them with some wise heads and continue their development to lift them from the bottom of the ladder.
What’s NOT to like
With all of the experience they brought in, it was all in the forward-midfield range and there could have been more of a focus on the backline which leaked more points than any other team in the AFL last season.
