Carlos Alcaraz was in scintillating form at Wimbledon in 2024 as he found a way to brush all before him aside on his way to the trophy.
Following his second Wimbledon trophy in as many years, Alcaraz arrives as the favourite to secure the silverware once again at $2.20, but is the youngster the man to back this year?
Wimbledon 2025 Winner | Odds |
---|---|
Carlos Alcaraz | $2.20 |
Jannik Sinner | $2.63 |
Novak Djokovic | $5.00 |
Jack Draper | $15.00 |
Alexander Zverev | $17.00 |
Daniil Medvedev | $21.00 |
Alex De Minaur | $34.00 |
Rest of the field | $34.00+ |
Carlos Alcaraz was in inspired form across the two weeks in London in 2024 as he secured his second consecutive Wimbledon crown. He is now priced at $2.20 to notch a third crown on the bounce heading towards the biggest Grand Slam in 2025.
Jannik Sinner is next in line at $2.63, with Novak Djokovic available at $5.00 before the betting begins to stretch, with Jack Draper next at $15.00.
The worry for any prospect outside of Alcaraz is that the Spaniard walked to the title in 2024. Sinner was much fancied in 2024 but fell in the quarter-finals as he failed to get close to the showpiece event.
Meanwhile, Djokovic promised a lot was some supreme performances. However, he was stunned in the final as he was hammered 3-0 by Alcaraz in one of the more one-sided finals in recent memory.
Of course, even one of the greatest of all time is entitled to a bad game, but it is not often that Djokovic is beaten to nil. This is doubly true in a showpiece final for the Serb. Djokovic has now lost his last two Wimbledon finals on the bounce, meaning he will be desperate to set the record straight next year.
Heading into 2025, Djokovic, Sinner and the rest of the field have a long way to go if they are to deny Alcaraz a third straight crown in London. The bookmakers make Alcaraz the man to back, but the odds suggest any of the top three could win.
It will also be interesting to see how Sinner fares as he will have spent three months on the sidelines in the build up to the competition following his ban due to two positive drug tests in 2024. He will return in time for the French Open in May, but a lack of consistent tennis across the start of the year could cost him.
Based on Wimbledon in 2024, the competition is Alcaraz's to lose once again, with the rest of the field battling to keep up.
