The 2022 Might And Power is a major 2000m WFA event run at Caulfield over the Melbourne Spring Carnival, with this year's edition proving a lead up to the Cox Plate for most contenders.

The galloper that looks to have taken the next step to be the WFA star of Australia is Anamoe (barrier three) who comes off Winx Stakes (1400m) and George Main (1600m) wins this prep, but the cloud is still over his head after pulling up lame last time.

Zaaki (barrier seven) failed as a $1.30 in this race last year, ridden against his regular pattern. Does he lead the field this year?

Alligator Blood (barrier five) went all the way to win the Underwood Stakes (1800m) last start but now the big test is running a strong 2000m off what we expect to be a genuine tempo.

I'm Thunderstruck (barrier one) is another with a question above his head as to whether he runs out this 2000m strong enough, but the class is there.

It might not be the most important race on its own but it is arguably the event that shapes the spring to come the most in Melbourne.
