Alcaraz has put together his most dominant run to the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam this tournament - it's the first time he's ever reached this stage of a major without dropping a single set across his opening four matches. The Spaniard has been ruthlessly efficient and is now the youngest player in the Open Era to have made 13 Grand Slam quarter-finals. In with a chance at usurping rival Jannik Sinner for the No. 1 ranking this tournament, Alcaraz is seemingly a man on a mission to reach the final.

Lehecka meanwhile has advanced into his second Grand Slam quarter-final, but he has benefitted from his seeded opponents - Casper Ruud and Ben Shelton - being knocked out early. The Czech will now make his long-awaited top 20 debut after this tournament, but it's not over yet, with Lehecka troubling Alcaraz in their last two meetings. However, a Grand Slam is a different ball game and Alcaraz will be 100 per cent motivated and dialled in from the get-go. The five-time major champion isn't suffering any concentration lapses at the moment, so backing Alcaraz in for his fifth straight sets win of the tournament.

Head To Head

Alcaraz leads 2-1, but Lehecka has proved a tough obstacle for him to overcome. Lehecka prevailed 63 36 64 in the Doha quarter-finals earlier this season before Alcaraz emerged a 75 67(5) 62 winner in the Queen's Club final just before Wimbledon.

Carlos Alcaraz Form

Alcaraz has registered a tour-leading 58-6 record for the season, securing six titles and remaining World No. 2, with a chance to rise into the top spot if he surpasses Sinner's result at this US Open.

It's been another incredibly dominant season for the 22-year-old - since Miami, Alcaraz has made the final of all seven tournaments he's entered, winning Monte Carlo, Rome, Roland Garros, Queen's and Cincinnati and finishing runner-up in Barcelona and Wimbledon.

Usually prone to early round lapses, Alcaraz has produced four laser-focused performances to advance into the quarter-finals for the fourth time in five previous US Open appearances.

Alcaraz has breezed past Reilly Opelka, Mattia Bellucci, Luciano Darderi and Arthur Rinderknech, making it 10 wins on the bounce following on from his Cincinnati title.

Jiri Lehecka Form

Lehecka has put together a 34-17 record on the season and has climbed to a live ATP ranking of No. 15 on the back of his performance this US Open.

The Czech had a wonderful start to the season, winning his second ATP title in Brisbane and reaching the fourth round of the Australian Open, along with the semi-finals of Doha after beating Alcaraz along the way.

However, Lehecka suffered a dip in form and failed to win back-to-back matches at his next six tournaments, picking things back up again by making a run to the Queen's Club final, where Alcaraz got his revenge.

It was a solid summer for Lehecka - he made the R16 in Washington, Toronto and Cincinnati, losing to top 10 players in all three tournaments. The 23 year-old has made the most of his fortunate draw in New York, beating Borna Coric, Tomas Martin Etcheverry, Raphael Collignon and Adrian Mannarino to make the last eight.

Verdict

Alcaraz has been locked in from the very first point this US Open and hasn't dropped a set in his four matches.

Lehecka has received a good draw and although he's troubled Alcaraz in the past, a Grand Slam is different and he also has a history of fading against top 10 players. Backing Alcaraz in for another straight sets triumph.
