Sabalenka has continued her love affair with New York, advancing into the US Open quarter-finals for the fifth straight year. With a flawless 4-0 record in US Open quarter-finals, Sabalenka will be confident of reaching the final four - she also has an extraordinary 12-1 record overall in Grand Slam quarter-final matches, highlighting her dominance at this level. Sabalenka hasn't dropped a set in her four matches so far this tournament and I like her chances for another relatively routine win here.
Vondrousova is a fantastic player and she's beaten two top 10 players to make her second US Open quarter-final in Jasmine Paolini and Elena Rybakina. The Czech is easily a top 10 player when at full fitness, but I think her tournament ends here. Sabalenka has won the last four hardcourt matches between the pair - including a one-sided victory in Cincinnati a couple of weeks ago. In these conditions in a round of a slam she rarely loses in, Sabalenka should be set for another win and semi-final at Flushing Meadows.
Head To Head
Sabalenka leads 5-3, winning the last four hardcourt meetings - including a 7-5 6-1 victory in Cincinnati just before the US Open.
Aryna Sabalenka Form
Sabalenka has compiled a 54-10 record on the season, winning three WTA titles and remaining World No. 1 despite failing to add to her Grand Slam trophy cabinet.
Although Sabalenka has picked up titles in Brisbane, Miami and Madrid, she will be hugely disappointed with her season due to her lack of Grand Slam silverware.
The World No. 1 went down in the final of the Australian Open and Roland Garros and bowed out in the semi-finals of Wimbledon.
Which means there's just one more chance for Sabalenka to salvage her year in New York over the coming week. Sabalenka hasn't been at her absolute best, but she's still advanced into the quarter-finals with straight sets victories over Rebeka Masarova, Polina Kudermetova, Leylah Fernandez and Cristina Bucsa.
Marketa Vondrousova Form
Vondrousova has registered a 18-8 record for the season coming into this contest in a year that has again been hampered by injuries.
The Czech missed the last half of 2024 through injury and has been restricted to just 10 tournaments in 2025.
With her ranking dropping to No. 60 as a result, Vondrousova has been forced to overcome some elite opponents in the early rounds of this US Open. The 26-year-old has toppled Jasmine Paolini and Elena Rybakina in her last two matches to reach the quarter-finals.
When on, Vondrousova is without doubt a top 10 level player - she won the WTA 500 tournament in Berlin just before Wimbledon, beating Sabalenka and Madison Keys along the way, but this US Open marked the first time she's won back-to-back matches since.

Verdict
Sabalenka has advanced into the quarter-finals without dropping a set and has won her last four hardcourt meetings with Vondrousova, with three coming in straight sets.
Vondrousova has done well to beat two top 10 players already in New York, but it's unlikely she makes it three. Backing Sabalenka in straights.
