Andrey Rublev, a four-time quarter-finalist at the US Open, faces a potentially challenging first-round match against qualifier Dino Prizmic. Rublev, seeded 15th, is in strong form, having won 21 of his last 29 matches. Prizmic, a promising young player, has improved his rank significantly despite past injuries. This will be their first meeting, and while Prizmic has potential, Rublev's experience and passion for the US Open make him the favorite to win in four sets. Fans can watch the match live on Unibet.

Andrey Rublev vs Dino Prizmic Tips, Prediction & Live Stream

Four-time quarter-finalist Andrey Rublev will have to be on guard in his US Open first round against qualifier Dino Prizmic on Monday.

Rublev has endured a tough last couple of seasons on tour and is seeded 15th at this US Open, but there's been some encouraging signs lately and he'll be determined to keep building on his momentum here and not fall back into old habits. Rublev has gone 21-8 since Hamburg and the US Open has traditionally been his best slam, with the Russian registering a 24-9 record (that's four more match wins than any other slam) and making the quarter-finals on four occasions.

However, this could be an extremely difficult opening round assignment. Prizmic is one of the brightest young prospects in tennis and I think the 20-year-old would already be knocking on the door of the world's top 50 if not for some injury problems that have limited his time on tour over the last 12 months. Prizmic was ranked No. 393 in February, but is now operating at a career-high of No. 124 after lighting up the Challenger circuit. The Croatian has now qualified for just his second Grand Slam main draw, with Prizmic taking a set off Novak Djokovic in his only other previous match at this stage at the Australian Open in 2024. I think Prizmic can win Over 17.5 total games here, but backing Rublev's class to shine through in four.

Head To Head

This will be the first career meeting between the pair.

Andrey Rublev Form

Rublev has put together a 29-19 record on the season, but has raised his level over the last few months, winning 21 of his last 29 matches since just before the French Open.

Consistency has strong for Rublev - he's made the R16 at both Roland Garros and Wimbledon, while he's made at least the quarter-finals in three of the four tournaments he's entered during the summer.

It took Taylor Fritz to knock Rublev out of the Toronto quarter-finals, while it was Carlos Alcaraz who ended his run in three sets in the last eight of Cincinnati.

As you can see, it's taken top four players to beat Rublev in his last two events - he's seemingly building nicely and he's avoided the likes of Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic in his quarter of the US Open draw, where he will be hoping to make a fifth quarter-final and a long overdue first Grand Slam semi-final.

Dino Prizmic Form

Prizmic is 3-1 on the main tour in 2025, with the Croatian doing most of his work on the Challenger Tour, where he's registered a 27-9 record.

It's been a tough road up the rankings for Prizmic, who probably would have expected to be well inside the top 100 at this stage.

However, injuries have forced him to grind away on the Challenger Tour for that little bit longer, which could hold him in good stead going forward.

The 20-year-old has won 27 of his last 32 matches at all levels, including three in US Open qualifying last week, defeating Alexis Galarneau, Murphy Cassone and Jason Kubler. Prizmic's only previous appearance in a Grand Slam main draw was a memorable one - he qualified at the 2024 Australian Open and took a set off Novak Djokovic on Rod Laver Arena before going down in four.

Verdict

Prizmic is a huge talent and might contend for slams in the future. He's qualified for the main draw, has plenty of confidence under his belt and can make this match competitive.

However, Rublev is back in good form and he loves the US Open - I'm backing the Russian to get the job done in four sets.
