We've been treated to classic contests over recent years, with Addeybb defeating Verry Elleegant twice and who could forget a packed Randwick in 2019 to watch Winx run her last race, with the champion winning a third Queen Elizabeth Stakes in a row.
Via Sistina is favourite for the 2025 Queen Elizabeth Stakes, with $1.85 her quote via Betr
2025 Queen Elizabeth Stakes Tips
2025 Queen Elizabeth Stakes Best Bet - Via Sistina
The Chris Waller-trained import has won seven Group 1's from 10 starts (two this prep) in Australia and the seven-year-old found career best form at the back-end of the 2024 Melbourne Spring Carnival.
That included an eight-length romp when smashing the race record in the Cox Plate, with that demolition being recorded fourth-up and she's going every bit as well this campaign.
Via Sistina wasn't able to get a fast tempo via her recent Ranvet Stakes triumph and there should be more pressure in this 2000m WFA feature, which is her target assignment for the autumn.
A strong field has been assembled and as a result, we can hopefully get a better price closer to the jump for Via Sistina, but she's still comfortably the top seed in the 2025 Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
2025 Queen Elizabeth Stakes Next Best Bet - Rousham Park
This Japanese visitor is a Group 3 winner over this distance, while the six-year-old has also placed twice at Group 1 level since an eighth-of-eleven finish when contesting he 2023 Hong Kong Cup.
His last Group 1 placing was a runner-up finish in the Breeders' Cup Turf (2414m) last November and Rousham Park was only a few strides off nabbing Rebel's Romance in that event.
Rebel's Romance is a seven-time Group 1 winner and he backed the US performance up with a feature victory in Qatar at his next outing (also a Group 1 winner in Hong Kong last year).
French-born jockey Christophe Lemaire travels over for this key engagement and he has a great rapport with Rousham Park, with four wins and three placings recorded from seven rides.
2025 Queen Elizabeth Stakes Value Bet - Buckaroo
Buckaroo was unlucky in the Caulfield Cup and while he had some excuses in the Melbourne Cup, he also didn't stay 3200m and the six-year-old was spelled after that two mile attempt.
The Chris Waller-trained import has been consistent since being gelded, with back-to-back wins before a narrow defeat behind Via Sistina and he contested the Cups after the Turnbull Stakes.
I loved his lead-up work ahead of his George Ryder Stakes return, which was effectively another trial, as there was no intent early and he held-up/in restricted room from the 200m.
His work late was still strong (third-fastest last 400m of the Golden Slipper Day card) and with a April 4 tick-over trial completed, Buckaroo steps up to a more suitable distance here.
