While Buckaroo (barrier 8) showed potential last season, he has improved since being gelded ahead of this campaign, with back-to-back victories recorded second and third-up, and the last of those was a brilliant 3.5-length triumph in the Group 1 Underwood Stakes at Caulfield.
The Chris Waller-trained import lost no admirers last start despite not landing a hat-trick in that Turnbull Stakes attempt, where he was just edged out late by Via Sistina.
Eliyass (barrier 21) had been a model of consistency in both France and Australia, having recorded nine wins and three placings from 12 starts overall.
He suffered his first defeat for the Waterhouse & Bott stable when third-of-sixteen in the Turnbull Stakes, however, the six-year-old was still the pick of the on-speed brigade via that key lead-up race.
It's worth noting that 15 of the last 36 Caulfield Cup winners have come via the Turnbull Stakes lead-up.
The Metropolitan quinella of Land Legend (barrier 1) and Zardozi (barrier 12) are also among the notable acceptances for the 2024 Caulfield Cup, and the latter was unlucky not win that Sydney staying feature.
Zardozi also profiles well in regards to age, with 14 of the last 30 Caulfield Cups being won by four-year-old's and she proved her staying credentials last spring when taking out the VRC Oaks.
Warmonger (barrier 16) was among the early market elects for this feature prior to his eleventh-of-sixteen finish second-up in the Turnbull Stakes, however, his prior fresh performance was eye-catching in a strong form race (Makybe Diva Stakes).
The Price & Kent (Jnr)-trained galloper bolted in with the 2024 Queensland Derby via his last attempt at this distance.
Japan are searching for their third Caulfield Cup win and representing the "Land of the Rising Sun" in the 2024 edition is Warp Speed (barrier 19) who has recorded three wins over 2400m.
Kalapour (barrier 4) carries topweight of 55kg and he's on the seven-day turnaround with Deny Knowledge (barrier 17), who upset Mr Brightside when saluting in the Might And Power Stakes.
Sydney Cup winner Circle Of Fire (barrier 13) improved off a plain return when recording a sound effort in the Turnbull Stakes and the Ciaron Maher-trained import will relish the rise in trip third-up.
