World No. 1 Jannik Sinner faces off against quarter-finalist Alexander Bublik at the French Open, aiming for his first title at Roland Garros. Sinner has been in impeccable form, having dominated his last three matches and dropping minimal games. In contrast, Bublik has astounded by reaching his first Grand Slam quarter-final, defeating notable players de Minaur and Draper. Despite Bublik's capability to challenge the best, Sinner's consistency and discipline are likely to prevail, potentially resulting in a decisive win.

Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Bublik Tips, Prediction & Live Stream

World No. 1 Jannik Sinner continues his quest for a first French Open title when he meets surprise quarter-finalist Alexander Bublik in the last eight on Wednesday.

It's been a supremely dominant tournament for Sinner - he's dropped just seven, three and eight games in his last three matches and it's looking like perhaps only Carlos Alcaraz has the ability to stop him from securing a third Grand Slam title on the bounce. Bublik meanwhile has stunned the tennis world by reaching his first major quarter-final on by far his least-preferred surface, with the enigmatic Kazakh upsetting top 10 stars Alex de Minaur and Jack Draper along the way.

Bublik's best tennis has the potential to trouble the very best, as he's proven this tournament, but I think Sinner will be far too disciplined here. Bublik has a tendency to throw in the towel and openly admits he tanks when things don't go his way. I can see Sinner gradually breaking Bublik's spirit and finishing strongly to cover a -8.5 games line, which he's done in his last three matches.

Head To Head

Sinner leads 3-0 in completed matches. This will be their first meeting since a pair of grass clashes in 2023 at Halle and s-Hertogenbosch, where Sinner retired in the former and prevailed 6-4 6-2 in the latter.

Jannik Sinner Form

Running out of adjectives to describe Sinner's dominance - he's now won 107 of his last 116 matches dating back to October 23, going 16-1 in 2025 and prevailing in his last 18 Grand Slam matches, securing US and Australian Open titles.

Even a three-month suspension this season has failed to halt his momentum, with only Carlos Alcaraz managing to stop him in his comeback tournament at the Rome Masters last month.

If possible, Sinner has gone to another level in his last three matches at Roland Garros, taking out three very accomplished players in destructive fashion.

Sinner first ended the career of Richard Gasquet by a 6-3 6-0 6-4 score before crushing Jiri Lehecka 6-1 6-1 6-2 in a ruthless performance. The World No. 1 continued his intimidating form with a 6-1 6-3 6-4 victory over Andrey Rublev in the R16.

Alexander Bublik Form

One of the stories of the tournament. Bublik was 7-13 at tour-level before arriving at Roland Garros, but on a surface he openly despises, he's gone on to reach his first Grand Slam quarter-final. Classic Bublik.

To be fair, Bublik had shown intent this clay season - he made the R16 at the Madrid Masters and dropped down to Challenger level in an effort to rebuild his ranking, promptly taking home the Turin title just before Roland Garros.

Bublik has gone from strength to strength in Paris, breezing past outsiders James Duckworth and Henrique Rocha in straight sets and recording monumental upsets over ninth seed Alex de Minaur (coming back from two sets to love down) and fifth seed Jack Draper in the R16, coming away with a 5-7 6-3 6-2 6-4 win.

The 27-year-old is now the first man representing Kazakhstan to have reached a Grand Slam quarter-final in the Open Era.

Verdict

What a story it would be if Bublik could reproduce the level that brought down de Minaur and Draper against Sinner.

Unfortunately, I don't see it happening. Sinner is in simply ruthless form right now and while Bublik might be able to be competitive for a set, he'll likely fade away in the latter stages.
