Albury Tips June 16
Best Bet
Race 3 No. 3 Written By Lucy
Wet-track form has been a major asset for Written By Lucy this preparation, with the mare winning both starts on Heavy ground.
The latest of those victories came over 1200m at Nowra, where she defeated six rivals to complete a winning double.
Competing at Class 3 level, she settled back before finishing nearly a length clear of her nearest pursuer.
Tactical versatility is another positive, having raced prominently when winning at the same venue in early April.
Damon Budler knows the four-year-old well and, after connections opted to scratch her from a Randwick-Kensington assignment last Wednesday, this looks a suitable target.
Value Bet
Race 4 No. 2 Sorry Sunshine
Recent form suggests Sorry Sunshine is building towards another win, with the gelding finishing third over 2000m at Wagga earlier this month.
He was beaten six-and-a-half lengths in that Heavy 9 contest after starting at $18.
That performance represented an improvement on his previous run at this track, where he weakened late over the same distance.
Both outings came at Benchmark 58 level, while the drop back in trip is no concern given he has recorded three wins over this distance.
Brodie Loy takes the ride from an inside barrier and, with the six-year-old typically improving after a couple of runs back, he appeals as a genuine value chance.
Market Mover
Race 5 No. 4 Brial Rose
Ron Stubbs-trained mare Brial Rose resumed with a fourth-place finish on Heavy ground at Wagga earlier this month and has attracted strong market support.
The five-year-old has previously placed at this venue, while both of her career victories have come on Heavy tracks.
After opening at $3.60 with Unibet Australia, Brial Rose has firmed into $2.90 favouritism.
Stats Say
Backing Brittany Button's mounts has provided a healthy return on investment this season, with the jockey recording a strike-rate of 18% (14/76) and a 23% ROI at this venue.
The rider has enjoyed particular success when teaming up with trainer Kym Davison, with the combination operating at a 30% strike-rate (7/23) at the track this season.
Button has two rides for the stable on Tuesday, beginning with Smokin'anniversary in Race 2 after the filly debuted with an eighth-place finish here last month.
The pair also combine with Bifurcation, who has been freshened since finishing fifth in a similar event over this course and distance on Good ground just over a month ago.
