Fils has surged up the rankings over the last couple of years and would be targeting a top 10 finish by the end of this season. However, the immediate focus is getting that first victory at the French Open, where he has a 0-2 record in the main draw. One of the most talented players on tour, Fils has improved his consistency in 2025, which has resulted in his 14th seeding for this year's Roland Garros.
In saying that, Fils has really struggled to produce his best tennis at the slams. He's always getting dragged into big battles - in fact, the 20-year-old has never won a match in straight sets at a major. Indeed, all 16 of his Grand Slam matches have gone at least four sets, which means we will be focusing on Jarry taking at least one set here. It's been a difficult last 12 months for Jarry, who has slipped to No. 150 in the rankings after an ear issue contributed to some disappointing results.
Jarry made the biggest final of his career at the 2024 Rome Masters, but that ear problem surfaced not long after and he lost 16 of his last 19 matches of the year.
The Chilean hasn't been able to find his best tennis throughout 2025 either, registering a 7-12 record overall - and his ranking plummeted after failing to defend his Rome runner-up points a couple of weeks ago.
Jarry attemped to find some last-minute confidence in Geneva last week, but suffered an opening round loss to Alexei Popyrin.
