Race 1 - 11:45AM HKJC World Pool Fernhill Mile Tips (1600m)
6. Salann appeared thrown in the deep end on debut when contesting the Group 3 Breeders Stakes at Flemington, but her lead-up work was encouraging, and she was hard to miss late in that 1200m performance.
While no threat to a slick Satono Glow, she finished off strongly from the rear and got the better of Gin Twist, who arrived there off a sharp Listed win. 1200m to 1600m isn't easy, but this isn't a tough race for some early black-type.
5. Stitzer is the first foal out of Group 1-winning miler Never Been Kissed. Was raw on debut, but got home with the fastest last 200m of the Baillieu Stakes, and an extra furlong on a bigger Randwick looks ideal at start two.
8. Sumac also comes out of the Baillieu Stakes and was badly held up there, with some tiring rivals falling into his lap. He should've gone close.
1. Hydrobomb broke through at Sandown and has to be respected from the Hayes yard, who can hold form with a juvenile.
Selections: 6-5-8-1.
Race 2 - 12:20PM Bisley Workwear South Pacific Classic Tips (1400m)
4. Regal Award gets a pass mark from the Darby Munro Stakes, where he held ground for a midfield finish in a fast-run race. I did expect more there, albeit the gelding was only first-up and arriving off just one jump-out.
Also, Victorian youngsters often improve from their first clockwise run, while getting to 1400m second-up is also a tick. His talent was evident last prep and is well placed under quality handicap conditions, with weight off the top three.
9. Azarax could improve sharply at a big price. His fresh win was stylish prior to placing in the Canberra Guineas and, while awful last start, a slow recovery was noted. A cross-over noseband and pre-race ear muffs have been applied.
1. Beskar isn't as well weighted here, but was well ridden to win the Darby Munro Stakes at huge odds, where he was a month between runs second-up.
10. Samarelle is back in trip with blinkers on. Her last try over this track-and-trip was a second to Panova, which reads well for this.
Selections: 4-9-1-10.
Race 3 - 12:55PM TAB Percy Sykes Stakes Tips (1200m)
2. Satono Glow showed a slick turn-of-foot on debut when coming from the rear and saluting in a slowly run race at Warwick Farm, and in the process, the filly recorded the fastest last 400m of that entire March 3 program.
She then ventured south and was more dominant when taking out the Breeders Stakes. Both starts have been on wet tracks, which is a query, along with more interstate travel in a first prep, but she hasn't put a hoof wrong.
1. Medicinal had strong form through a Blue Diamond Prelude debut sixth and then went back-to-back, the latest a Group 3 win, while the youngster has since won a tick-over trial. Godolphin won this last year with Tempted.
9. Reachin' Out is favourite off a debut romp over She's Extra, who had bolted in with her previous two. The track bias was heavily in her favour, though.
4. Street Icon has been runner-up at Group level either side of an Inglis Millennium performance that had excuses.
Selections: 2-1-9-4.
Race 4 - 1:30PM Provincial-Midway Championships Final Tips (1400m)
8. Oui Oui Oui completed a hat-trick over November and December. Had every chance in the Hawkesbury Qualifier when second, but was fresh at 1400m and that got her into this final, while she was then a month between runs on Golden Slipper Day.
That latest effort was terrific under the circumstances when forced back from a wide draw and running the fastest last 600m of that Group 3 without favours, and now looks to be peaking for a race that she's been set for.
6. Buffalo showed talent throughout his juvenile season and backed up solid trial work to take the Newcastle Qualifier on February 28 when first-up off a long break. Draws out and is still learning, but he could be the best horse here.
5. Matcha Latte is aiming to become the first multiple winner of this race, and he came out of Listed company to salute comfortably third-up on March 7.
14. Harry's Bar was heavily backed at big odds when runner-up in the Gosford Qualifier and is capable of settling closer.
Selections: 8-6-5-14.
Race 5 - 2:05PM Asahi Super Dry Australian Oaks Tips (2400m)
1. Ohope Wins dropped back to 2000m in the Vinery Stud Stakes when making her stable debut for Chris Waller and was also more than five weeks between runs since her New Zealand Oaks victory over this distance in February.
That March 28 performance was a pass mark, with James McDonald remaining in the saddle here, and the bigger expanses of Royal Randwick should suit her style, which is to get off the speed and build momentum.
2. After Summer almost caused an upset in the Vinery Stud Stakes at a huge price, and that came second-up after what was only an even 1600m return. Was consistent throughout a long campaign, which culminated in a VRC Oaks third.
3. Profoundly arrives off a comfortable victory in the Adrian Knox Stakes when third-up, and prior to that, she was the pick of the closers in the Kembla Grange Classic.
7. Classic Gem gets winkers on after a brave effort without luck in last Saturday’s Adrian Knox Stakes. Fresh run was strong and also, she was luckless in the VRC Oaks.
Selections: 1-2-3-7.
Race 6 - 2:40PM Arrowfield 3yo Sprint Tips (1200m)
10. Caffe Florian makes appeal on an each-way basis, a filly who progressed off a nice debut to win her next three, with the hat-trick brought up at Listed level, and she only had one trial before racing keenly in her March resumption.
It was a good Darby Munro effort second-up, when taken back from a wide draw and forced to the inside to find clear room late, running the race’s fastest closing sectionals and the second-fastest last 600m of the meeting.
9. Tempted is the one to beat and is suited in trip on the fresh side. The form around her two February wins isn't flash, but she's three from four over the Randwick 1200m, with the only loss being an Everest second to Ka Ying Rising.
3. Grafterburners was scratched at the barriers ahead of The Galaxy and has been back to Brisbane for a trial. Unbeaten this season, all at sprint trips, and still looks untapped.
2. Devil Night has placed in both runs this campaign, and a repeat of the William Reid run would have him thereabouts.
Selections: 10-9-3-2.
Race 7 - 3:15PM Schweppes Sydney Cup Tips (3200m)
11. Mr Monaco has built a solid record with five wins from 15 starts, including three of his last four in Australia, and after a spring that finished with a BM84 triumph at Caulfield, he's returned a stronger galloper this prep.
1600m was too sharp, but it was still a good first-up run, and he's followed that with back-to-back Sydney wins, the latest a 2400m Manion Cup success when prevailing despite a wide run. Trained by Ciaron Maher, who has trained three of the last six Sydney Cup winners.
12. Machine Gun Gracie won easily at start two for the Hayes yard. This is a sharp rise in trip, but it's seemingly by design, given there are so many other options if there were distance queries, and she carries 7kg less from the last win. Could be the one with all the upside.
6. Valiant King can pull out a run at long odds, which we saw over spring, and is trained by Chris Waller, whose five previous Sydney Cup winners have all been at big prices.
13. Newlook arrives off a soft Chairman's Quality triumph, and 15 of the last 31 Sydney Cup winners have come through that event.
Selections: 11-12-6-13.
Race 8 - 3:55PM Moët & Chandon Queen Of The Turf Stakes Tips (1600m)
3. Treasurethe Moment went down as an odds-on favourite in the Futurity Stakes first-up on February 21, but that run still rated well, and she found a much-needed confidence booster when back in grade against her own sex in the Sunline Stakes.
After a Memsie Stakes demolition of a strong field when resuming in the spring, Treasurethe Moment never fully recovered from a slight setback following that Caulfield performance, and she could be back on track now.
1. Pride Of Jenni brings intrigue to any race she contests, and the exciting front-runner brought up her last Group 1 victory in the spring when third-up in the Empire Rose Stakes. Brave in a narrow Australian Cup defeat, and coming back to 1600m is no knock.
9. Melody Again profiles as a dangerous runner at odds. Should've finished closer in the Group 1 Coolmore Classic, where she was held up at key stages, and that followed a slashing fresh run at Newcastle.
2. Lady Shenandoah was a touch plain in the George Ryder Stakes, especially given the soft run. Is she looking for a strong mile off that?
Selections: 3-1-9-2.
Race 9 - 4:35PM Queen Elizabeth Stakes Tips (2000m)
7. Autumn Glow has been bombproof to date and is now having her first try at 2000m in a bid to extend her unbeaten run to 12, with the four-year-old prepared by Chris Waller, who is aiming for his seventh win in this WFA feature.
This race often favours those prominent in the market, with only one double-figure winner in the past 10 editions and five winners at $2.50 or under. She's tactically versatile and handles all surfaces, but this is clearly her biggest test to date.
2. Sir Delius was only fair fresh but improved second-up in the Ranvet Stakes over this trip, a performance that indicated a peak run is looming. Veterinary issues forced connections to abandon a spring campaign, and he was arguably the best horse in Australia prior to that.
1. Dubai Honour almost pinched the Tancred Stakes last start, a race he won in 2025 before finishing runner-up in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes, and he won this feature easily in 2023, making light work of Anamoe in the process.
8. Aeliana has found her winning touch again, and form lines this prep tie in through all of the main chances. Just whether she has already peaked?
Selections: 7-2-1-8.
Race 10 - 5:10PM Tresemmé Sapphire Stakes Tips (1200m)
2. Infancy landed the cash for us at a generous quote in last year's Sapphire Stakes, where the mare beat Commemorative, who arrived there off a luckless Group 1 attempt, while Group 1 WFA winner Lady Laguna ran third.
She's never been a Rosehill or proficient wet track performer, which adds further merit to a pass-mark return in The Galaxy when defeated two lengths, and Jason Collett takes the reins, who was aboard for last year's Sapphire win.
3. Gangsta Granny is a consistent sprinter, with five wins and six placings from 11 starts, and after a fresh triumph over this track-and-trip, it took Roselyn's Star with 6kg less and a saloon passage to deny her a fortnight ago.
1. Splash Back creates some intrigue, with three jump-outs completed, winning the last two. 1200m is as short as she wants, but she has great fresh stats.
4. Catch The Glory won the Birthday Card Stakes first-up and was giving 4kg to Inkaruna, who arrived there off a luckless return.
Selections: 2-3-1-4.
