Hawkesbury hosts eight competitive races on Thursday, September 10, with a Good 4 track providing ideal conditions. Standout bets include Power Broker (Race 3) returning with improvement expected after a promising debut, and Not On My Watch (Race 5) favoured to break through following a solid first start. Los Padres (Race 6) offers value first-up, dropping in class and benefiting from a handy claim. These tips are carefully selected based on recent form, breeding, and trainer-jockey combinations, positioning them as top chances for the meeting.

Hawkesbury stages the New South Wales provincial action on Thursday, with eight races to be contested.

The track is currently rated a Good 4, with the rail out four metres from the 1100m to the 450m and in the true position for the remainder.

Hawkesbury Tips September 10

Group One Thoroughbreds Maiden Handicap Tips (Race 3)

Hawkesbury Next Best Bet - Race 3 No. 2 Power Broker

A superbly bred Hawkesbury local, Power Broker returns to his home track for start number two on Thursday after an encouraging metropolitan debut.

The colt is by Dundeel out of Group 1 winner Stay With Me, who is herself out of champion mare Miss Finland and has already produced dual stakes winner Waltz On By, along with progressive sprinter Chains Of Love.

Power Broker was a notable drifter ahead of his $100,000 Super Maiden debut at Warwick Farm on August 19, where he was ridden conservatively from a wide draw over 1300m before finding the line well after encountering trouble and being ridden for luck in the straight.

The rise to 1500m looks suitable and, while Comanche Chief finished ahead of him in that same race, that runner enjoyed considerably more favours and Power Broker may be the more talented of the pair.

There is not a great deal of depth to this provincial-only maiden and, despite another wide draw, natural improvement from his debut can see Power Broker breakthrough.

Hawkesbury Best Bet - Race 5 No. 10 Not On My Watch

Not On My Watch comes from the same family as Group 1 winner Sofia Rosa and showed enough on debut at Gosford to suggest he possesses above-average ability.

The Joe Pride-trained gelding was well respected in betting for that August 28 maiden and, although only four runners faced the starter, there was some depth through winner Peyton, who had previously pushed smart galloper St Gotthard at Warwick Farm.

St Gotthard subsequently bolted in at Group 3 level and is now favourite for Saturday's Group 2 Run To The Rose, while Peyton also enjoyed the softer run in transit at Gosford and brought previous race experience into the contest.

Not On My Watch was unsuited by the tactical affair after settling back early and being forced to work to land outside the leader, yet despite still racing a little greenly, he was right there at the finish.

He should take plenty of improvement from that first race-day experience and Chad Schofield now takes the reins, with the jockey and Pride stable combining for three winners and a runner-up from seven starts together this season.

Blakes Marine Midway BM64 Handicap Tips (Race 6)

Hawkesbury Value Bet - Race 6 No. 1 Los Padres

Los Padres is capable of producing a strong run fresh at a big price and returns here after two quiet trials for the Beer and Carpenter stable.

The gelding drops sharply in grade from his previous campaign, which ended with an unlucky effort in a strong Saturday Benchmark 78 at Hawkesbury after also encountering trouble late in a Benchmark 72 at Rosehill.

His best performance of that preparation came when winning the Bega Sprint at the Sapphire Coast on February 1, while a third-place finish in a Randwick Midway followed, giving him clear form credentials stronger than most of these.

The son of Zoustar has also performed well in his past two first-up runs, including a fourth-of-eight at Kembla Grange in January and a fresh victory at this level at double-figure odds back in April 2025.

The 3kg claim from Deon Le Roux brings him down to 59kg, and with versatility across all surfaces plus a previous Hawkesbury 1100m victory to his name, Los Padres appeals as a value chance first-up.
