Eagle Farm Tips June 27

Race 1 - 11:43AM Sky Racing QTISx Three-Years-Old Handicap Tips (1200m)

11. Propaganda could be taken on late by the market, which wouldn't be a shock given the weaker form lines he brings into this metro contest. However, he could be the one with all the upside in this line-up, arriving here for just his fourth start.

The son of Spieth didn't beat much fresh at Toowoomba, but gave them an absolute bath and did it in decent time. With just two runs in his first prep, he bolted in on debut before a slightly plain second at start two. It'll be interesting to see what he does.

2. Sword Of Legacy is the one to beat if there's petrol left after a tough run on June 6 when covering ground. He arguably should have saluted third-up at Doomben, and that followed a big breakthrough at Eagle Farm. A kinder draw this time around is another positive.

10. Grinzinger Champ is on stable debut for Jack Bruce after building a tidy record down south with two wins and two placings from five starts. Both Doomben trials suggest he can run a race fresh.

7. Excenia is the first foal out of Group 2 winner Xilong and is an improving type. She had excuses second-up before atoning with a win at Doomben last start.

Selections: 11-2-10-7.

Race 2 - 12:18PM Ladbrokes Mega Multi BM85 Handicap (1200 METRES)

6. Lisztomania could be the value in an even affair. The seven-year-old doesn't have a great winning strike rate, but he's generally thereabouts and often comes to hand fresh, including a fourth in the Kosciuszko on return in October when running the fastest last 200m of that feature.

Was competitive twice in Brisbane at Listed level, third and fourth-up before a break. The Tamworth trial was good on June 15. He'll need some luck and could well back from a wide draw, but an each-way price is available and he's got the class to give this a shake.

5. Town Crier is a two-time winner at Eagle Farm and, after an Ipswich breakthrough on May 13, he gave a good sight when runner-up to Soothsayer on June 6. That runner was a Listed winner last Saturday.

1. Boom Torque doesn't bring any winning first-up form, but this is the weakest race he's seen in a long time and he wasn't disgraced with a Group 3 fifth when resuming in December. That race was taken out by subsequent Group 1 winner Caballus.

17. Scheherazade is hard fit and in form after a five-peat was just denied at Doomben on June 3, and she carries 4.5kg less from that run.

Selections: 6-5-1-17.

Race 3 - 12:53PM Tattersall's Stakes Tips (1400m)

6. Tannin showed plenty of style with his debut victory at Gosford, justifying an odds-on quote after settling just off the lead before working through his gears nicely over the six furlongs. The performance suggested he'll relish 1400m.

The Godolphin colt heads north in search of some early black type, with Tommy Berry staying aboard and striking at 21% in June with 14 winners recorded this month.

5. Hard To Exceed was an impressive debut winner at Doomben before a short break. He wasn't able to be ridden as close from a wide draw in the Oxlade Stakes first-up. That was perhaps the pipe-opener with this race in mind. Barrier five and firmer ground are both ticks.

2. Cool Gent took out the Oxlade Stakes at a massive price, but it's hard to knock the win after settling back in the field and spotting them a big start before threading a run through and winning stylishly. The rise to 1400m looks well worth a try.

11. Say You Will found 1000m too sharp first-up behind a smart one, and her Oxlade Stakes performance indicated the rise from 1200m to 1400m will be favourable.

Selections: 6-5-2-11.

Race 4 - 1:28PM Ladbrokes 2026 Battle Of The Bush Final Tips (1200m)

2. Revolt heads a competitive early market, with the Battle Of The Bush always a raffle. He's chasing four straight wins, boasts 10 victories from 16 starts and is a perfect nine from nine under Jay Morris after beginning his career with the Ryan & Alexiou stable.

The four-year-old is one of several on-speed influences in this country feature and drops 4.5kg from his May 23 triumph.

8. Odegard is a strong type aiming for a hat-trick and is drawn to sit off the speed before winding up late down Eagle Farm's long straight. It was hard to miss his latest win at Townsville.

5. Roll Up had some handy metro form lines when prepared by Kelly Schweida, including an Eagle Farm victory, and has been mostly consistent throughout the season. He could blend in late off a strong tempo.

4. Peshwa won this race last year, draws softly and arrives in even better touch this time around after back-to-back victories.

Selections: 2-8-5-4.

Race 5 - 2:07PM Tattersall's Gold Crown Tips (2100m)

6. Geemes has found the right race to land a black-type win and, off a good freshen-up, the Randwick 1600m run was encouraging. The four-year-old almost saluted second-up off a similar platform in March, rattling home with the fastest last 200m of the March 8 meeting to just miss in the Listed Canberra Cup.

A repeat of that performance would make her hard to beat in this thin affair against her own sex. She's still lightly raced and handles any ground.

4. Sun Worshipper was plain in the Premier's Cup third-up, but her performances either side of that have been encouraging, including her Ipswich Cup third last Saturday. Her last attempt on a seven-day turnaround resulted in an Eagle Farm victory over this trip.

1. Pinito is hard to trust as she's mixing her form now, but perhaps she's looking for this longer trip after staying at a mile on June 6.

7. Sweltering was well held behind Pinito at Doomben on May 23, but the subsequent 1810m effort here indicated this rise in trip is worth a look.

Selections: 6-4-1-7.

Race 6 - 2:47PM Tattersall's Cup Tips (2400m)

2. Future History was brave without luck when resuming in the Chairman's Handicap on May 16, covering ground with 60.5kg before sticking on for a brave fourth-of-13 finish. Although unsuited back to 1800m second-up, he wasn't far off pinching the Lord Mayor's Cup at Eagle Farm.

Both the rise to 2400m and the drop to 56.5kg under set weights and penalties conditions are major positives on Saturday for the veteran, who is building towards a peak and a fifth stakes victory.

5. Pounding hasn't won in a long time but deserves one and brings the right form lines. His Q22 effort was as good as any behind a leader who had all the favours. That came after briefly looming to secure a Melbourne Cup berth in the Ramsden Stakes. He's well suited at this level.

3. Fawkner Park is a hard one to gauge. Terrible early in the season, he was okay at Doomben before failing to get through the Heavy 10 second-up on June 13. He'd win this if he found anything approaching his best.

1. Asterix could finish in the first three or four by default, but has looked a tired horse since opening the campaign with back-to-back wins.

Selections: 2-5-3-1.

Race 7 - 3:23PM Tattersall's Mile Tips (1600m)

2. Sun God has a 2kg weight swing on War Eternal from their June 13 clash and, with that advantage, along with another run under the belt, the Chris Waller-trained galloper looks the one to beat in the Tattersall's Mile.

He contests this third-up after opening the campaign with victory in the Luskin Star Stakes, while he found winning form at the back end of his summer prep with a mile victory. Mostly disappointing through his first Australian preparation, he's really furnished since then and has raced consistently all season.

1. War Eternal is in career-best touch despite being a rising eight-year-old and is aiming for a fourth straight victory on Saturday. His last two wins have both come at Eagle Farm. There's not much upside left, but he's racing in such good form.

3. Depth Of Character doesn't get past 1600m. His last run at the mile was luckless in the Scone Cup before stepping up to 1800m, where he failed. That was his only time out of the money in five starts at Eagle Farm, with three wins and a third at the track.

5. Port Lockroy has had three runs under his belt since being gelded, and we'll get a better gauge on where this Group 1 winner is at. He's been okay without threatening and is at peak fitness now.

Selections: 2-1-3-5.

Race 8 - 3:58PM Tattersall's Tiara Tips (1400m)

17. Within The Law was perhaps a run short second-up in the Gunsynd Classic, stepping up to a mile after an eye-catching first-up effort over 1400m in the Fred Best Classic, where she just missed the talented Skyhook. She again met Skyhook in the Gunsynd, while her Sydney return in March came with excuses before a freshen-up aimed at the Brisbane Winter Carnival.

The Stradbroke Handicap may have been an option had she won the Fred Best, but this Group 1 against her own sex has long looked the target and blinkers now go on. Third-up, back in trip and on firmer ground, she looks capable of producing her peak run for Bjorn Baker.

3. Manaal resumed with an excellent third in the Morton Cup despite being held up late, and she's ideally placed to improve second-up, where she boasts three wins and a second from five starts. A Group 1 winner at this trip, she looks a major player.

14. Blindedbythelight resumed with a second behind future Group 1 winner Idle Flyer before enduring little luck in Adelaide and catching the eye from a wide draw at Doomben. With the blinkers on, barrier one and a return to more suitable conditions after an even Eagle Farm run, she appeals as a value chance.

6. Gerringong backed up a nice trial by catching the eye first-up when second to She's Got Pizzazz in the Dane Ripper. That winner would've been favourite for this Group 1, but a minor injury forced her to the paddock.

Selections: 17-3-14-6.

Race 9 - 4:35PM Eureka Stud W.J. Healy Stakes Tips (1200m)

9. Niance is the most talented sprinter in this field at her best. The issue is she's trying to find that form after looking like a Group 1 sprinter in the making, but she hasn't been at her best this season. There were excuses for her first two runs this campaign before she tired late over 1300m on testing ground last time.

The drop back to 1200m and drier ground are both ticks, while the blinkers go on for the first time. If it hasn't already come, it's well and truly D-Day, with Jordan Childs likely to push forward from a wide draw given the lack of speed in the race.

11. Pereille was good when resuming on May 9, then should have won at Doomben before a wide gate proved costly here on June 13. He drops further down in the weights and is the type who can sprint off a slow speed. He just needs a pinch of luck in transit from a low draw.

3. Hidden Wealth should only run well from barrier four, where he'll settle forward and should get every chance from a favourable map. He has lacked the killer punch this campaign, but has still been thereabouts.

12. Barber was unlucky first-up at Listed level. While not disgraced second-up, he didn't get through the Heavy 9 there and looks a likely improver on a firmer deck.

Selections: 9-11-3-12.
