Tobin Brothers Celebrating Lives Tips (Race 2)

Caulfield Next Best Bet - Race 2 No. 12 Next Stop Iowa

It's a decent rise in grade; however, it's also a very sharp drop in the weights for an in-form Next Stop Iowa, a lightly raced four-year-old who's aiming for a hat-trick after carrying 6.5kg less than she did in her second-up triumph at Mornington following the Dakotah Keane claim.

That was a brilliant victory, where she was ridden colder from a wide draw before letting down strongly late with the fastest closing sectionals of the June 8 meeting.

Having settled closer to the speed via a May 22 return win at Pakenham, both of those events have since produced two subsequent winners, and the Matt Laurie-trained mare looks well back on track after showing promise early before failing to come up in a short preparation last time in.

The weight relief is a major positive for this assignment, with the rise in grade offset by the significant drop in the impost she'll carry on Saturday.

Also have to respect Sixteen Reasons at a massive price, with the mare not the easiest to catch, although all of her recent Adelaide form lines are strong enough for this, and she also saluted via her only previous attempt at this track, trip and grade.

Caulfield Favourite - Race 4 No. 2 Savour The Dream

He showed above-average ability early in Queensland as a two and three-year-old but didn't progress, and following a failed Brisbane campaign last winter, Savour The Dream was given plenty of time and also gelded ahead of his 2026 return.

His resumption over the Warrnambool Carnival was a pass mark, as was the improved second-up effort at Sandown before he relished both the drop in grade and rise in distance to record an outstanding victory at Mornington last start.

After beginning awkwardly, he settled well back as a result and still reeled them in with ease, giving 4kg to runner-up Oak Beach and putting three lengths on that rival.

Oak Beach franked the form with a three-and-a-half-length Caulfield Heath victory at her next start, further enhancing the strength of that Mornington performance.

Savour The Dream is still doing a bit wrong, but he has class, arrives off a confidence-boosting victory and could easily measure up here.

Caulfield Best Bet - Race 5 No. 4 Gilded Water

Bred by the late Queen Elizabeth II and owned by King Charles III, Gilded Water put in an absolute shocker first-up as a beaten favourite on May 23, although there were excuses for that Sandown failure after EIPH was detected post-race.

He was then scratched from the Sandown meeting a fortnight ago due to the deteriorating track conditions, and while the surface is currently a Soft 7, somewhere in the Soft 5-6 range should be okay for this Ciaron Maher-trained import.

Gilded Water has spring targets in mind after failing to qualify for the Melbourne Cup last spring, where he was his own worst enemy in the Bart Cummings when over-racing fiercely yet still managing to finish third before a runner-up finish in the Geelong Cup.

Happy to forgive the return run, and 2000m suggests the stable has put plenty of work into him ahead of this assignment.

He's capable of atoning under Ben Allen, who also needs to find some form, but he's a very capable rider.

Sportsbet Feed Handicap Tips (Race 7)

Caulfield Value Bet - Race 7 No. 10 Beach Pad

Beach Pad is worth another look at an each-way quote after the Shane Jackson-trained galloper backed up a solid Warrnambool return by saluting over the Swan Hill carnival.

We were with him at Flemington last Saturday, where he was cramped for room at the start and settled well back as a result before being completely unsuited by the race shape, although he still got home fairly well under the circumstances despite never being in winning contention.

This BM78 represents a sharp drop in grade and he carries more weight as a result, although the five-year-old lumped 2kg more when winning second-up.

He'll also appreciate the extra 100m as the son of Bondi builds towards potentially further trips, while there's an opportunity to settle closer this time around from a low draw.

The five-year-old also handles all conditions, which is another positive in an open contest.

Sportsbet More Places Handicap Tips (Race 9)

Caulfield Roughie - Race 9 No. 15 Behaviour

The failed Swan Hill resumption on June 7 can be forgiven, with Behaviour strung up on the inside from a low draw in the straight before having difficulty obtaining clear running and refusing to take a very narrow gap.

He'll get galloping room this time around from a wide draw, which suits his racing pattern as he likes to get back and wind up late, especially if the wider lanes are in play as they've been lately at Caulfield.

His last victory came at Caulfield last winter, and while he hasn't gone on with it, there have still been multiple competitive references over the summer.

Those include a fourth here behind Gallant Son, who was Group 1 placed at his next two starts, while a third behind Ndola also reads well enough for this grade.

Behaviour also caught the eye in a strong Cranbourne jump-out prior to his recent return, and a sharp improvement second-up wouldn't shock.
