In February, Fangirl (barrier 5) defeated Via Sistina first-up in the Apollo Stakes and she then only only narrowly defeated second-up when the stablemate turned the tables in the Verry Elleegant Stakes.

Her autumn culminated with a Group 1 victory in the Queen Of The Turf Stakes and along with having good fresh stats, it's worth noting that her last six wins have come at Randwick, which includes a first-up victory in the 2023 Winx Stakes.

Chris Waller also prepares Aeliana (barrier 2) who rounded out her three-year-old season with a dominant victory in the Australian Derby, while she has recorded a win and a third from her last two 1400m attempts.

With 10 wins and eight placings from 21 starts, Gringotts (barrier 10) has been a very consistent campaigner and he proved his Group 1 WFA credentials in March when successful in the George Ryder Stakes.

The Winx Stakes (registered as the Warwick Stakes) is the first Group 1 race of the Australian Racing Season, a 1400m WFA event run at Royal Randwick

In 2018, this feature was renamed the Winx Stakes, in honour of the champion Australian racehorse who won this feature three times.

Anamoe (2022), Fangirl (2023) and Via Sistina (2024) have won the last three editions of the Winx Stakes.
