Ipswich Best Bet - Race 2 No. 1 Alpha Bravo
An impressive first-up record makes Alpha Bravo an appealing prospect on his return to Ipswich, with the Danny Bougoure-trained gelding having won twice from four previous fresh appearances and recently finishing second in a Gold Coast barrier trial.
The five-year-old enjoyed a productive previous preparation, recording three victories, including two at this venue, with the first coming over 1100m in a Benchmark 65 handicap when resuming.
That success came on Good ground, although the son of Better Than Ready is equally effective with some give in the surface, having registered his most recent victory on a Soft 6 track at Ipswich in May.
While required to shoulder top weight, Alpha Bravo has drawn favourably towards the inside and returns to a circuit where he has consistently performed well, having ended his previous campaign with a third-place finish at the Gold Coast in June.
The gelding should have the early speed to take up a prominent position, while the booking of Chelsea Baker is another positive, with the apprentice unbeaten in two previous rides aboard Alpha Bravo and well placed to maintain that record.

Ipswich Favourite - Race 3 No. 2 Kadesky
Three consecutive third-place finishes this preparation suggest Kadesky is building towards another victory, with the Chris Waller-trained gelding returning to familiar surroundings after a series of consistent performances at Ipswich.
All three appearances this campaign have come at this venue, including his latest effort over 1666m in a small-field Benchmark 65 handicap four weeks ago, where he was beaten by less than a length on Good ground.
The son of Street Boss has already demonstrated his effectiveness over Thursday's shorter distance, having contested his first two runs this preparation over the same track and trip.
Although the form of his latest performance remains relatively untested, his previous third has worked out particularly well, with the first two finishers subsequently winning in metropolitan company.
Premiership leader Ben Thompson reunites with the four-year-old, and with connections electing to bypass a Doomben assignment on Wednesday in favour of this race, Kadesky looks well placed to register the second victory of his career.

Ipswich Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 6 Flop Shot
A consistent start to his preparation has Flop Shot knocking on the door of another victory, with the four-year-old finishing in the first four at each of his three appearances this campaign.
His strongest performance came two starts ago at the Sunshine Coast, where he was narrowly denied over 1600m in a Benchmark 0-58 handicap after settling back and producing an encouraging finish.
That effort on a sound surface preceded another competitive display at the Gold Coast, where the son of Spieth stepped up to 1800m and finished third behind a winner who proved almost five lengths superior to the opposition.
There was merit in the latest performance, with the gelding travelling comfortably throughout, while barrier six should allow his rider to find a suitable position without requiring too much early work.
The return to 1600m looks particularly suitable given his recent form, and representing a trainer-jockey combination that has enjoyed success at Ipswich this year, Flop Shot looks capable of doubling his career tally.

Ipswich Roughie - Race 6 No. 2 Hidden Nugget
A perfect two-from-two record over the Ipswich track and distance makes Hidden Nugget an interesting prospect at longer odds, with the five-year-old returning to a circuit where he has previously produced some of his strongest performances.
The son of Spirit Of Boom resumed over 1000m in a Class 5 Plate at the Sunshine Coast early last month, showing good early speed despite racing wide before weakening late to finish sixth of seven, beaten just over five lengths.
Although unable to sustain his effort on that occasion, there was enough encouragement in the performance to suggest he should benefit from the outing, particularly with Thursday's assignment bringing a return to his preferred distance.
The gelding has also demonstrated his ability on Soft ground, so any further easing of the conditions would not necessarily be a concern, although his wide barrier presents a challenge against rivals likely to be prominent early.
Kayla Barker's 3kg claim provides valuable relief at the weights, and with a freshen-up since his latest appearance, Hidden Nugget looks capable of improving sharply and maintaining his unbeaten track-and-distance record in the finale.
