Freshened-up after a dominant debut victory at Moonee Valley on December 28, Field Of Play (barrier 5) made it back-to-back triumphs when taking out the Blue Diamond Prelude (C&G) on February 8.

The son of Deep Field is trained by Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young, who prepared Tagaloa to win the 2020 Blue Diamond Stakes.

My Gladiola (barrier 11) was leading the futures market for this two-year-old Group 1 prior to her defeat in the Blue Diamond Prelude (F) as an odds-on favourite, where she was beaten by Palm Angel (barrier 1) and the Jason Warren-trained juvenile turned around a big margin from their Preview clash at Sandown.

Ciaron Maher is still searching for his first Blue Diamond victory and the leading trainer has aimed Cherish Me (barrier 6) at this Group 1 off an impressive breakthrough debut win at Geelong.

The daughter of Brazen Beau has won a February 10 trial at Cranbourne ahead of this feature assignment.

Icarian Dream (barrier 7) and Wiltshire Square (barrier 13) are also prepared by Ciaron Maher.

Godolphin have won the Blue Diamond Stakes three times with Earthquake (2014), Lyre (2019) and Daumier (2022), while Sepoy saluted in Sheikh Mohammed's colours back in 2011.

Tempted (barrier 12) is their top seed for the 2025 Blue Diamond Stakes and the half-sister to Kallos (four-time stakes winner) was a debut winner in December before returning with a second-place finish in the Group 3 Widden Stakes.

Anthony Freedman has prepared three of the last six Blue Diamond winners, which includes back-to-back victories in with Sam (Artorius - 2021 and Daumier - 2022).

The father & son training partnership prepare Tentyris (barrier 4), a Godolphin colt who dead-heated for first with Shining Smile in last Saturday's Talindert Stakes and that rival arrived to the Flemington event off a comfortable victory in the Blue Diamond Preview (C&G).

Ben, Will & JD Hayes trained Little Brose to Blue Diamond Stakes glory in 2023 and the brothers have dual representation in 2025 with Tycoon Star (barrier 15) and Miss Celine (barrier 10).

16 runners have accepted for the 2025 Blue Diamond Stakes, with this juvenile feature one of three Group 1's contested on the February 22 program from Caulfield.

Blue Diamond Stakes Winners

The Blue Diamond Stakes is Melbourne's premier two-year-old race and it continues to grow in popularity, with the Caulfield feature worth $2 million in total.

First run and won in 1971 when Tolerance took out the race, this juvenile feature has unearthed several top-line horses including Redoute's Choice, Alinghi, Sepoy and Extreme Choice.

Daumier (2022), Little Brose (2023) and Hayasugi (2024) have won the last three editions of the Blue Diamond Stakes.
