Alexander Zverev has won 43 of his last 45 Grand Slam matches against players outside the top 20 and he's backed to complete a straight sets victory over Luciano Darderi in their US Open fourth round encounter on Monday night.
Zverev hasn't been convincing at all this US Open, but I just haven't seen enough from Darderi to suggest he can be competitive here.
Both players have had luck on their side in regards to the draw. Zverev won't have to face a top 10 player before the final, with either Arthur Gea or Botic Van De Zandschulp waiting in the quarter-finals and one of Alexander Blockx, Francisco Cerundolo, Karen Khachanov or Learner Tien in the semis.
Meanwhile, Darderi hasn't faced anyone ranked inside the top 100 across his opening three rounds. In fact, if you go back further, the Italian hasn't square off against a top 50 player in his last four tournaments.
So it goes without saying Darderi now facing the World No. 2 is a significant step up in class and I don't think he's ready for the challenge, especially on hardcourt, where he's lost all six sets he's played against top 10 opponents.
As mentioned, not very confident with Zverev at the moment, but he got the job done against Alejandro Tabilo in straight sets in the previous round and can repeat that victory here.

Nobody has won more matches on tour than Zverev this year and he's in a strong position to claim a second major title of the year after his breakthrough at Roland Garros.
There's no doubt Zverev benefitted from not having to face Carlos Alcaraz or Jannik Sinner at the French Open - and he might not need to meet either in New York if Alcaraz is knocked out before the final.
After making the Wimbledon final, Zverev was in poor form to launch his North American hardcourt swing, losing his opening match in Canada to Tallon Griekspoor and in the R16 of Cincinnati to Tommy Paul.
Zverev then had to battle through his opening two rounds in New York, spending over nine hours on court to survive Lorenzo Sonego (6-4 3-6 6-7(7) 7-5 6-4) and Quentin Halys (6-4 4-6 7-6(3) 6-7(3) 6-3).
The German would have been relieved for an easier time of things in the third round, moving past Tabilo 6-2 7-6(2) 6-2 - although he still had to save a pair of set points in the second.

Tremendous season for Darderi, who cracked the top 20 earlier in the year and arrived at the US Open at No. 22 in the world.
The Italian's best surface is certainly clay - he won the title in Santiago, finished runner-up in Bastad and made the semi-finals of the Rome Masters, where he beat Zverev, Paul and Rafael Jodar along the way.
But Darderi has definitely improved on hardcourt, reaching the fourth round of the Australian Open and quarter-finals of the Canada Masters.
However, Darderi didn't have to face a top 50 player before losing in Canada and incredibly, has avoided top 100 players on his way to the R16 at the US Open.
Indeed, Darderi has defeated No. 196 Harry Wendelken, No. 134 Dalibor Svrcina and No. 123 Dane Sweeny, needing four sets in the opening two rounds before taking care of the Aussie wildcard 6-4 6-3 6-3.
