Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Flavio Cobolli Tips, Prediction & Live Stream
Felix Auger-Aliassime and Flavio Cobolli square off for a place in their first Roland Garros semi-final on Wednesday in Paris.
With all the carnage in the top half of the draw, we've got a pretty expected quarter-final showdown between fourth seed Auger-Aliassime and the in-form Cobolli.
After surviving a five-set thriller with Daniel Altmaier in his opener, Auger-Aliassime has largely cruised into the last eight and will be looking to improve on a 2-2 record in Grand Slam quarter-finals.
Cobolli meanwhile has advanced into his second Grand Slam quarter-final after Wimbledon last year - he's had a relatively soft draw, facing three players outside the top 85 and a fatigued Learner Tien, dropping just one set on his way to the last eight.
This should be a fun match. Cobolli is flashy, unpredictable and capable of the sublime and disastrous in a single game. Auger-Aliassime is the more experienced and if his serve is firing, he can claim more cheap points.
I'm backing a relatively close encounter, but Cobolli's poor record against top 10 opponents can't be ignored. He was also increasingly nervous and tense as he attempted to close out Zachary Svajda in the R16. Auger-Aliassime is backed to close this out in four with at least one tiebreak.

Felix Auger-Aliassime Form Analysis
- 2026 Record: 23-10
- French Open Record: 10-6
- Current Ranking: No. 6
- Career-High Ranking: No. 5 (2025)
Auger-Aliassime surged to a career-high ranking of No. 5 with a strong finish to last year, which included a run to the US Open semi-finals and some big results indoors.
However, it's fair to say Auger-Aliassime hasn't maintained that form throughout 2026, save for some more good indoor results in February, winning the Montpellier title and making the final in Rotterdam.
The Canadian went out in R1 of the Australian Open and failed to move past the R16 at any of Indian Wells, Miami, Madrid and Rome, with his best result during the clay swing when he made the last eight in Monte Carlo.
Auger-Aliassime was in huge danger of crashing out of Roland Garros in the first round when he survived Daniel Altmaier in a fifth-set tiebreak.
Now, he looks the most likely to take advantage of the wide open top half of the draw and make the final, registering fairly routine wins over Roman Andres Burruchaga, Brandon Nakashima and Alejandro Tabilo to reach the last eight in Paris for the first time.
Flavio Cobolli Form Analysis
- 2026 Record: 22-12
- French Open Record: 7-3
- Current Ranking: No. 14
- Career-High Ranking: No. 12 (May 2026)
Cobolli is usually rocks or diamonds, but it's been more of the latter lately, which has seen him improve his ranking to be on the verge of the top 10. In fact, one more win in Paris and he will leapfrog Alexander Bublik into 10th spot.
The Italian won the 500 title in Acapulco and finished runner-up at the 500 event in Munich before reaching the quarter-finals in Madrid.
After crashing out of his Hamburg title defence in R1, Cobolli has returned to form at the French Open, surging into his second major quarter-final for the loss of just one set.
It's been a fairly soft draw, but you can only beat what's in front of you and Cobolli has done just that, easing past Andrea Pellegrino, Yibing Wu and Learner Tien in straight sets.
Cobolli was made to work harder in the R16 by Zachary Svajda, blowing winning positions in the third and fourth set before finally closing out a tight 6-2 6-3 6-7(3) 7-6(5) victory.

Verdict
Should be a relatively close contest, but with Cobolli's shocking record vs the top 10, I give the edge to Auger-Aliassime on a stage like this.
