Kalinskaya has competing in her second Grand Slam quarter-final after the 2024 Australian Open, while Chwalinska has come from nowhere to win seven matches from qualifying, dropping just one set in the process.
It's a nice contrast in styles. Kalinskaya has the firepower and ability to blast winners from anywhere and hit her way out of trouble, while Chwalinska is all about court craft and variety, mixing up pace and spin to force her opponent into uncomfortable positions.
In a tournament full of surprises, anything could happen here, but I've got to take the even money on offer for Kalinskaya - she's got far more experience in these situations and is the proven player at this stage. Kalinskaya looked down and out after a second set bagel in the heat against Osario, but recovered for a 6-3 0-6 6-2 victory.
The Russian then recovered from 1-4 down in the first set and twice stopped Potapova from serving out the match in the decider before coming back from 1-4 down in the match tiebreak for a memorable 6-4 2-6 7-6(7) triumph.

It's been an incredible tournament for Chwalinska, who's become the first qualifier to reach the French Open quarter-finals since 2020.
Chwalinska had never beaten a top 50 player before this tournament and had only reached one tour-level quarter-final, where she was crushed in Cluj by Emma Raducanu in February.
However, there were signs Chwalinska was rising ahead of Paris - she took out the WTA 125 title in Oeiras and backed it up with a dominant run through qualifying.
The 24-year-old has continued her career-best form in the main draw, conquering Olympic gold medalist Qinwen Zheng and former major semi-finalists Maria Sakkari and Elise Mertens. Chwalinska then held her nerve to ease past home hope Diane Parry 6-3 6-2 to reach the last eight.
