Alexander Zverev vs Rafael Jodar Tips, Prediction & Live Stream

Alexander Zverev continues his pursuit of an elusive maiden Grand Slam title when he meets fearless teenage star Rafael Jodar in the Roland Garros quarter-finals on Tuesday.

Can Zverev handle the pressure, that's the million dollar question? One of only two top 10 players remaining after the carnage of this tournament heading into the quarter-finals, Zverev might never have a better opportunity to secure that long-awaited major crown. We've seen Zverev buckle under the weight of expectation before - has he learned from those past experiences?

Meanwhile, Jodar is putting together one of the most meteoric rises we've ever seen in tennis. The 19-year-old has surged to the cusp of the top 20 out of nowhere, registering a 19-3 record on clay this season and well and truly announcing himself as a star of the future. But could Jodar potentially go all the way at Roland Garros?

There's no question the Spaniard has the firepower and talent, but I'm not sure he has the legs or mental fortitude against a player like Zverev in a first ever Grand Slam quarter-final? We saw Jodar run out of gas against Luciano Darderi in Rome after lots of time spent on court and now he's coming into this encounter following back-to-back five setters.

Jodar can most certainly win at least a set and maybe even two, which would push this Over 35.5 total games, which is the best bet for this one. But Zverev, for all his faults at the business end of majors, is remarkably consistent and hard to break down from the back of the court. The German has also been dominating players outside the top 20 at this tournament and throughout 2026. Zverev in five is the value play.
  • Zverev has won eight of his last 11 Grand Slam quarter-finals
  • Zverev has won 37 of his 40 matches vs players outside the top 20 at Roland Garros
  • Zverev is 29-2 vs players outside the top 20 in 2026
  • Zverev has seen Over 35.5 games in his last four Grand Slam quarter-finals
  • Jodar has a 1-2 record vs top 10 players
  • Jodar has won 19 of his 22 matches on clay this season
  • Jodar has seen Over 35.5 games in his last three matches, going five sets in his last two
  • There's been 31 five-set matches this tournament, only two off the record set at RG in 1992

Zverev vs Jodar Head To Head

This will be the first career meeting between the pair.

Alexander Zverev Form Analysis

  • 2026 Record: 32-9
  • French Open Record: 42-10
  • Current Ranking: No. 3
  • Career-High Ranking: No. 2 (2022)

It hasn't been the best season for Zverev and he remains without a title for over 12 months now, but he's still clearly the third best player in the world after Sinner and Alcaraz, with Djokovic playing a part-time schedule.

Felix Auger-Aliassime is the only other top 10 player remaining in the draw heading into the quarter-finals, so Zverev will never have a better chance to finally land that Grand Slam breakthrough.

Sinner has stopped Zverev in Indian Wells, Miami, Monte Carlo and Madrid this year, while Alcaraz edged him out in the Australian Open semi-finals. Both are now absent - can Zverev take advantage?

The German has largely eased into the last eight in Paris, dropping just one set against Quentin Halys and beating Benjamin Bonzi, Tomas Machac and lucky loser Jesper de Jong in straights.

Rafael Jodar Form Analysis

  • 2026 Record: 24-9
  • French Open Record: 4-0
  • Current Ranking: No. 29
  • Career-High Ranking: No. 29 (May 2026)

Jodar has put together a seismic rise into the world's top 30 and one more win in Paris should elevate him into the top 20.

The 19-year-old has gone to another level since stepping onto the clay, winning 19 of his 22 matches, highlighted by a maiden ATP title in Marrakech and quarter-finals at back-to-back Masters 1000s in Madrid and Rome, earning his first top 10 scalp over Alex de Minaur in the former.

The Spaniard has continued his swashbuckling form in Paris, becoming just the sixth man this century to make the quarter-finals on their Roland Garros debut.

Jodar was an easy straight sets winner over Aleksandar Kovacevic before needing four sets to move past James Duckworth. The teenager was then forced to dip deep to edge out Alex Michelsen and Pablo Carreno-Busta in five sets.

Jodar is prone to concentration lapses and can drift in and out of the five-set format, but he's recovering when it matters most, which is the hallmark of a champion.
