Race 1 - 12:10PM Catanach's Jewellers Redoute's Choice Stakes Tips (1100m)
Best: 6. Scenic Point. She was backed as if unbeatable on debut at Pakenham and Scenic Point landed the cash in style with a 3.5-length romp over 1100m.
There's been no standouts among two-year-old's this season and the Hayes-trained youngster produced a strong rating in that March 20 event.
Juveniles can struggle to reproduce a high figure, which has been evident with this crop but Scenic Point is still the one to beat in the opener.
Value: 8. Skjaldmo. This debutante is a half-sister to Krakarib, who peaked at start two when winning the Maribyrnong Plate, so she's bred to go early.
She's looked a typical jump-and-run juvenile in two jump-out victories, where the filly has led throughout to record comfortable heat wins.
The time was fair for the latest via an 800m workout and from a one-turn (chute) start at Caulfield, drawing out isn't the end of the world here.
Race 2 - 12:40PM Noel Rundle Handicap Tips (1200m)
Best: 13. Ironton. There's obvious queries being first-up off such a long spell, although it's a weak race and Ironton worked well in a Flemington jump-out.
He beat a race-fit Ndola in that March 21 heat, a galloper who was there after an Australian Guineas tilt and he was Group 3 placed prior to that.
Ironton nabbed Xidaki when saluting on debut and that runner-up is now a dual stakes winner (beat a subsequent Group 1 winner in the Canberra Guineas).
Value: 6. Hennessy Lad. This Moody & Coleman-trained galloper is an honest off-season operator and two of his four wins have come first-up.
He's been thereabouts in three other return assignments, which includes a pair of fourths at metro level and he was luckless first-up last campaign.
With his rating now at 71, Hennessy Lad can be placed a little softer this time in and he was second to a smart Lovelycut in a March 18 jump-out.
Race 3 - 1:15PM Stow Storage Bill Collins Handicap Tips (1600m)
Best: 14. Pink Chandon. The main knock is the wide draw, as she may have to spot her rivals a big start and Pink Chandon would be the fav here otherwise.
After breaking through at start three, the daughter of Pierro was thrown in the deep when contesting two Group races (competitive in the Vanity).
Fresh in a nice form race, she ran the fastest last 400m and 200m of the February 19 card at Sandown, while a good second-up performance followed
Value: 1. Bon Mistress. I always respect an on-speed galloper who drops in grade and Bon Mistress should find this much easier than recent attempts.
She contested three Group races over February/March, with this mares BM78 a massive class drop and she was consistent earlier in the season.
Bon Mistress won three of her first four starts this season and the only loss prior her Moonee Valley showing came on heavy ground in a Group 3.
Race 4 - 1:50PM Jack Elliott Handicap Tips (1400m)
Best: 4. Our Couver. It's a very open race and Our Couver is one of many chances, a mare who outperformed a 50/1 starting price at Rosehill last start.
On paper, she looked outclassed contesting a Sydney BM88 and on a March 15 card where the inside was quicksand, she chased hard in the worst going.
While she's deep into the campaign, Our Couver is holding form and anything resembling her last start performance would see her right in this.
Value: 18. Callmeanicon. The four-year-old wasn't far off completing a hat-trick when runner-up to Haaracaine on September 22 at Flemington.
That winner was then in the market for the Group 2 Herbert Power Stakes, while Callmeanicon was spelled after a heavy loss in November.
She was in need of the run fresh, but that Sandown return was still a pass mark and Callmeanicon can progress second-up over 1400m.
Race 5 - 2:25PM Elvis Thurgood Galilee Series Final Tips (2400m)
Best: 2. Statuario. He was mostly consistent in six starts over his first prep, which culminated with a runner-up finish over 1800m at Listed level.
Statuario is stepping up to 2400m for the first time and the last start Shanwah form via the Alister Clark Stakes is the strongest reference in the field.
The grey finished around handy opposition first-up before being unsuited in the Australian Guineas, so he certainly has the class, but will he stay?
Value: 10. Rapid Cheval. The money was almost right in her 1500m Sandown return, where Rapid Cheval rattled home with the race-fastest closing sectionals.
That winner (Bancory Bay) has since saluted again, while Rapid Cheval contested the Alister Clark Stakes second-up and she was held-up at key stages.
Rapid Cheval is a half-sister to Kovalica and his biggest highlight came over this distance when bolting in with the 2023 Queensland Derby.
Race 6 - 3:00PM Bert Bryant Handicap Tips (2000m)
Best: 2. Kings Valley. Ciaron Maher often get his horses to hold form deep into a campaign and he's doing it with Kings Valley, who has been up a long time.
He's down in grade off an easy win at Randwick, where he beat Birdman (fifth at Group 3 level next start) and Sweysive (won four in a row prior to that).
Kings Valley has an extra 6kg from the last run, but he carried 59.5kg to victory in December and it took a smart Revelare to beat him two starts back.
Value: 10. Mozu Marcassin. It wasn't the greatest winning ride, but Mozu Marcassin still got the prize for us in his Sandown return last month.
The third and fourth placegetters from that March 5 event both won at their next starts, which includes Khor (subsequent Sandown victor).
Mozu Marcassin didn't handle a Soft 7 on Australian debut and he's been very consistent since that Warrnambool defeat (won his last three).
Race 7 - 3:35PM Evergreen Turf Geoff Murphy Handicap Tips (1200m)
Best: 5. Mckeyla. Her only time finishing out of the money was a 1.75-length fifth at Flemington and she atoned with a March 12 victory.
There's been genuine excuses in her two 1200m defeats at Moonee Valley, having covered ground each time and the latest was at Group 3 level.
Clean Energy won that March 22 event, a filly who has beaten Lady Shenandoah twice and she's also fav for the Group 3 PJ Bell Stakes at Randwick.
Value: 12. Rockin' At Midnite. This Chris Waller-trained filly had some decent form lines over her first prep before bolting in with a Moonee Valley maiden.
Rockin' At Midnite was spelled after her December 13 breakthrough and her race went around four lengths faster than the BM70 won by Apache Song.
Apache Song was airborne, with a hat-trick completed before placing in the Group 2 Australia Stakes, while this girl worked well in two March heats.
Race 8 - 4:15PM Tobin Brothers Celebrating Lives Easter Cup Tips (2000m)
Best: 14. Night Endeavor. It's a competitive affair and an open early market reflects that, with Poison Chalice and Cilcap sharing favourtism at $6.
Night Endeavor is an outsider, but there's a genuine case for him going off his third Australian start when 0.75-lengths off the very talented Deakin.
He disappointed after that at Sandown, but Night Endeavor did pull up lame there and he was freshened-up as a result (worked well in a March 17 jump-out).
Value: 2. Que Tempesta. Despite doing a lot wrong, he showed enough in his first Down Under prep and the best run was over 1700m at Caulfield.
The six-year-old arrives here off a nine-length defeat first-up in the Peter Young, but he's not the first horse to struggle behind Pride Of Jenni.
His only time finishing out of the money second-up was a fifth-of-fifteen over this track/trip when contesting the Group 3 Naturalism last spring.
Race 9 - 4:55PM Sportsbet Victoria Handicap Tips (1400m)
Best: 8. Suparazi. Outside of Joliestar, Suparazi arguably produced the best run in the Newmarket Handicap and he's now up to his pet trip.
He recorded the third-fastest last 200m of that Group 1 sprint, which he arrived to off a strong trial and he's won another hit-out since that fresh outing.
Suparazi is overdue and he brings terrific form from earlier this season, with placings behind Gringotts and Jimmysstar (both subsequent Group 1 winners).
Value: 9. Roll On High. 1100m is short of her best, but class was always going to carry Roll On High a long way first-up via thin race against her own sex.
Roll On High ran the second-fastest last 400m and 200m of the March 15 program (quickest last 600m) and all three of her wins have come at this trip.
While she can mix her form, the four-year-old has beaten Group 1 winners in Stefi Magnetica, Vibrant Sun, Joliestar and Kimochi over her three victories.
Race 10 - 5:35PM Robert Taranto Handicap Tips (1400m)
Best: 9. Elouyou. The return failure was well out of character, as Elouyou hasn't finished out of the money otherwise, albeit he's never saluted first-up.
He bounced back at The Valley and while I'm wary of that March 22 card, the gelding has always improved deeper into a prep when getting to 1400m.
His two prior wins were at this trip (both fast-run) and strong tempos suit (good cruising speed, but lacks the turn-of-foot to dash in slowly run races).
Value: 13. Falcon Of Malta. Despite being a middle-distance galloper, Falcon Of Malta generally comes to hand very early in his campaigns.
He has a win and a second from three fresh tilts, with the only miss being a fourth-place finish last prep and he's never been out of the money second-up.
With a maiden win over Another Wil, Falcon Of Malta showed promise early and he's completed two soft jump-out's ahead of this return.
