The son of Better Than Ready has shown good form at this venue in recent months including when taking out a small field track and trip event at the start of February.

The gelding won by just under half-a-length when seeing off three rivals in a Benchmark 76 handicap held on a good 4 surface.

Phillip Stokes’ representant went close to completing a double stepped up to Benchmark 78 level when finishing runner-up over the same track and trip two weeks later.

The four-year-old has been freshened since fading in the closing stages when stepped up to 1400m for a Benchmark 86 handicap when again racing on a sound surface at the start of last month.

The pick has been ridden from the front in each of her last two starts and she has a good barrier in five with the drop back in distance in her favour.

Jockey Lachlan Neindorf won twice on the gelding last prep and he can steer the selection to his fifth win in seventeen career starts.

The selection did best of those ridden from off the pace in a race that saw the first two race prominently throughout that day.

The Aaron Bain & Ned Taylor horses are running well in the main of late and their mare looks up to delivering a victory.

The daughter of Microphone performed well last prep including when finishing runner-up in The TAB Vanity, a Group 3 1400m event held on a good 4 track at Flemington at the start of November.

The youngster was stepped up to Group 1 level for the 1600m Schweppes Thousand Guineas at Caulfield next time and she delivered a career best effort in finishing fourth that day.

The ground was a good 4 on that occasion with the filly finishing strongly having been ridden cold on that occasion.

The selection has raced over shorter distances in two starts this prep taking a step forward when beaten just over one-and-a-half-lengths in a 1200m event at Caulfield last time out.

The filly has been slowly away in both starts this prep with the blinkers worn on her return to action at Flemington returning here having raced in a visor at Caulfield.

The Anthony & Sam Freedman stable boast a 25% strike-rate (5/20) on the Parks track here and their representative is taken to register a win.

While you have to go back to a Benchmark 68 handicap held on a wet track at Murray Bridge in May last year to find the pick’s most recent success she has run well in defeat a number of times since.

Those subsequent efforts include placed efforts in her first three starts last prep with two of those efforts coming over 1050m on the main track.

The daughter of Star Turn resumed this time around with a fourth, beaten just over three lengths in a six runner Benchmark 0-68 handicap three weeks ago.

The third home that day ran well to finish one place better here last week and the selection boasts a strong second up record having won twice from four attempts.

Barrier two is a positive in this contest and racing in blinkers for the first time she looks value to record a win.
