In the fourth T20I match, India seeks to seize the series lead against a weakened Australian squad, missing key players like Travis Head and Josh Hazlewood. Riding on their recent victory in Hobart, India boasts a solid lineup led by captain Suryakumar Yadav. With both teams possessing potent batting orders, the game promises a high-scoring showdown on the fast Gold Coast surface. Despite Australia's firepower, India's depth and balance suggest they are well-equipped to handle pressure and emerge victorious in this crucial encounter. Watch for standout performances from Abhishek Sharma and Nathan Ellis.

India will advance to a 2-1 series lead and pounce on an opportunity to take advantage of a depleted Australian side.

The hosts are now without key figures Travis Head, Josh Hazlewood, Sean Abbott, and Tanveer Sangha — all released to prepare for Sheffield Shield or upcoming Test duties — leaving Mitchell Marsh with a reshuffled squad and limited bowling depth.

India, on the other hand, are riding high after Washington Sundar’s explosive cameo in Hobart levelled the series. Their batting finally clicked under pressure, and with Kuldeep Yadav returning home, they may lean further into pace through Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana on what’s traditionally a quick, bouncy surface.

Expect a true Gold Coast wicket offering good pace and carry, encouraging another high-scoring clash. With both sides boasting powerful top orders but Australia’s balance disrupted, India look the more settled unit. They’ve now won 31 of their past 36 T20 internationals and remain the benchmark in this format.

Take the visitors to win. Abhishek Sharma will provide India with a solid start with the bat and Nathan Ellis will offer some resistance with the ball for the Aussies. Tim David comes off an explosive knock for Australia and is one to consider in batting markets

Head to Head

The series is finely poised at 1-1 after Australia’s MCG win and India’s successful chase in Hobart. Across 35 T20I meetings, India hold the upper hand with 21 wins to 12, while two matches have been no results. India have won the past three series between the two sides.

Australia have historically struggled against India’s spin and composure in the middle overs, though they’ve shown renewed aggression under Marsh’s leadership. The Gold Coast has hosted only two men’s T20 internationals, both high-scoring affairs, adding intrigue to the balance between bat and ball.

Australia Form & Team News

Australia’s strong start to the series has been tempered by the mass exodus of senior players preparing for Test duties. Travis Head joins Hazlewood, Abbott, and Sangha on the sidelines, leaving Marsh’s men short on both top-order stability and frontline bowling.

The positives remain Tim David’s sparkling 74 (38) and Marcus Stoinis’ return to form (64 off 39) in Hobart, showcasing the middle order’s muscle. Glenn Maxwell should return from injury, while Mahli Beardman and Ben Dwarshuis are expected to fill the bowling vacancies. Nathan Ellis, excellent at Bellerive with 3-36, will again be the spearhead of the Aussie attack.

Australia’s batting remains dangerous, but consistency and bowling depth are the key concerns. Without Head’s powerplay aggression or Hazlewood’s control, the hosts may rely heavily on Marsh, David, and Stoinis to post a competitive total.

Australia Squad

Mitchell Marsh (c), Sean Abbott (games 1-3), Xavier Bartlett, Mahli Beardman (games 3-5), Tim David, Ben Dwarshuis (games 4-5), Nathan Ellis, Josh Hazlewood (games 1-2), Ben McDermott (standby player) Glenn Maxwell (games 3-5), Travis Head, Josh Inglis (wk), Matthew Kuhnemann, Mitchell Owen, Josh Philippe (wk), Matthew Short, Marcus Stoinis, Tanveer Sangha

India Form & Team News

India’s depth once again shone through in Hobart. Washington Sundar’s unbeaten 49 (23) and Jitesh Sharma’s cool finish underlined the visitors’ ability to find match-winners anywhere in their XI. Abhishek Sharma remains the tone-setter up top, while Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav will be eager to cash in on a fast outfield.

Kuldeep Yadav’s departure opens a spot for an additional pacer — likely Harshit Rana — alongside Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah, giving India an attack well-suited to the conditions. Varun Chakaravarthy’s control (2-33 in Hobart) keeps him safe as the spin option.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav will demand more consistency from the middle order after several starts went begging earlier in the series. Still, India look the more balanced side, their batting order deeper and bowling attack better equipped to handle Australia’s mid-innings acceleration.

India Squad

Suryakumar Yadav (c), Shubman Gill (vc), Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Varun Chakaravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Rana, Sanju Samson (wk), Rinku Singh, Washington Sundar
