Taylor Fritz vs Karen Khachanov Tips, Prediction & Live Stream - Fritz to reach first Wimbledon semi-final
Taylor Fritz and Karen Khachanov face off in a highly anticipated Wimbledon quarter-final. Fritz, a strong contender in 2025, brings an impressive nine-match winning streak, including recent victories in Eastbourne and Stuttgart. Although Khachanov consistently advances to Grand Slam quarter-finals, his 0-9 record against top 20 players this year suggests he might struggle against Fritz. Despite Khachanov leading 2-0 in previous encounters, Fritz's current form positions him as the favorite. While Khachanov is challenging, Fritz is expected to secure his first Wimbledon semi-final spot.

Fritz brings a nine-match winning streak into this encounter after securing the Eastbourne title just before Wimbledon, while he was also triumphant on the Stuttgart grass. The American has navigated an extremely difficult draw and now finds himself back in the quarter-finals, where he has a 0-2 record after losing heartbreaking five-setters against Rafael Nadal in 2022 and Lorenzo Musetti in 2024. Can Fritz go one step further in 2025?
I believe he can. Khachanov is a very dangerous and consistent player having reached at least the quarter-finals of every Grand Slam throughout his career. He'll always fight until the end and has weapons to do damage. However, Khachanov hasn't been at his best or troubling the game's elite this year. Indeed, Khachanov has a 0-9 record vs the top 20 in 2025. The Russian has benefitted from a pretty soft draw at Wimbledon, so while I think he can take a set, Fritz is the form player in this matchup and he should have enough class to close this out and make a maiden Wimbledon semi.
Head To Head
Khachanov leads 2-0, but their last meeting came back in 2020, with the Russian prevailing 3-6 7-5 6-1 in the round robin stage of the now defunct ATP Cup.
Taylor Fritz Form
Fritz has registered a 29-11 record this season, overcoming some niggling injury problems and peaking for the grass swing.
After suffering early defeats at the Australian Open and Roland Garros to Gael Monfils and Daniel Altmaier respectively, Fritz was in desperate need of a big grass season - and he's in the midst of his best yet.
Indeed, Fritz has won 12 of his 13 matches on the surface this season, defeating Alexander Zverev to win the Stuttgart title before capturing his fourth Eastbourne crown, beating Joao Fonseca along the way.
Fritz was dealt an extremely tough draw at Wimbledon across the first week and needed five sets to edge out Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard and Gabriel Diallo before toppling Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in four. The American then benefitted from Jordan Thompson's retirement in the R16 to make the Wimbledon quarter-finals for the third time in the last four years.
Karen Khachanov Form
Khachanov comes into this contest with a 22-15 record on the season, but down at No. 20 in the world and without a title so far in 2025.
Always a player to be respected, Khachanov just hasn't been able to get going when it comes to facing the game's best players this year.
As mentioned, Khachanov has gone 0-9 against the top 20 in 2025. Of his 15 defeats this season, nine have come against that bracket.
The 29-year-old has received a fortuitous draw at Wimbledon, facing three players ranked outside the top 85 (Mackenzie McDonald, Shintaro Mochizuki and Kamil Majchrzak), while he needed to recover from 2-5 down in the fifth set to close out No. 37 Nuno Borges in his biggest battle of the fortnight.
Khachanov has played one Wimbledon quarter-final before, but it ended in a heartbreaking five-set defeat to Denis Shapovalov in 2021.

Verdict
Fritz has won 12 of his 13 matches on grass this season, while Khachanov is 0-9 vs top 20 players as he prepares to face the fifth seed on his favourite surface.
Fritz is the deserved favourite and I'm backing him to advance, but Khachanov is always a tough out, so tipping the Russian to win a set.
