Novak Djokovic vs Alexandre Muller Tips, Prediction & Live Stream - Djokovic to take care of business in Wimbledon R1

Wimbledon is arguably Djokovic's best chance to add to his 24 Grand Slam titles these days - he's only lost to Carlos Alcaraz since the 2017 edition of the tournament, winning four straight titles between 2018-2022 and losing to the Spaniard in the final of the last two. At 38 years of age, Djokovic is clearly preserving his body and opted not to play a competitive tournament on grass in the lead-up to Wimbledon - which was in stark contrast to Roland Garros, where he was desperate for matches and ended up winning his 100th career title in Geneva.

It's not a bad opening round draw for the legendary Serbian, with Muller coming into this clash on a four-match losing streak and only two completed professional match wins on grass. Muller was playing great tennis at the start of the year to break into the top 50, but that form has well and truly disappeared. Opening matches at Wimbledon are never easy, so I'm going with Over 27.5 total games and Djokovic to win the first set in a mini two-leg SGM for the best bet here.

Djokovic comes into this clash with a 21-8 record on the season, playing some excellent tennis to finish the clay season.

After a hamstring injury caused him to retire in the Australian Open semi-finals to begin the season, Djokovic never really looked himself - although he still managed to make the Miami Masters final, going down to Jakub Mensik.

However, Djokovic got back to some great tennis in Geneva, finally capturing his 100th career title, while he would have taken immense confidence from taking out Alexander Zverev in four sets in the French Open quarter-finals before going down to Jannik Sinner.

Djokovic has been the man to beat on grass for the better part of the last decade, winning seven Wimbledon titles, but the emergence of Alcaraz has cost him the last two Wimbledon championships.

Muller heads into this encounter with a 17-15 record on the season, but he's been struggling to replicate his early-season form lately.

Indeed, Muller launched the year by winning his maiden ATP title in Hong Kong, sensationally winning all five matches in three sets, while he also finished runner-up at the 500-event in Rio.

However, the wins have dried up for the Frenchman in recent times, with Muller suffering opening round exits at his last three tournaments at Roland Garros, Mallorca and Halle.

Muller has been unlucky with his early draws at Wimbledon so far in his career, going down to Alcaraz in 2023 and Daniil Medvedev last year.
