Mirra Andreeva and Belinda Bencic are set to clash in the Wimbledon quarter-finals with the winner advancing to their first Wimbledon semi-final. Andreeva, just 18 years old, has not dropped a set thus far and is in red-hot form, bringing a 36-10 record this season. Bencic, with a record of 25-10, has overcome injuries and challenging matches to reach this stage. This match is their first head-to-head meeting, and it's predicted that Andreeva will continue her excellent form to triumph in straight sets.

Andreeva is already featuring in her third Grand Slam quarter-final at just 18 years of age, but her first outside of Roland Garros, while Bencic will be competing in her fourth - and first outside of the US Open, where she made her only major semi-final back in 2019. Worryingly for Bencic, that was also the last time she defeated a top seven ranked player in a Grand Slam.

The youngest Wimbledon quarter-finalist in the last 18 years, Andreeva has won the third-most matches out of anyone on tour this season and hasn't dropped a set in reaching the last eight at SW19 for the first time. Bencic has meanwhile battled through a couple of early round three-setters and needed six match points to see of Ekaterina Alexandrova in the R16. I think Andreeva is playing the higher-level tennis right now and I'm backing her to win this in straights.

Head To Head

This will be the first career meeting between the pair.

Mirra Andreeva Form

Andreeva brings a 36-10 record on the season into this clash, winning two WTA 1000 titles and rising to as high as No. 6 in the world.

The 18-year-old was unstoppable earlier in the year when she captured back-to-back titles in Dubai and Indian Wells, while she was also a quarter-finalist at Roland Garros - but suffered a disappointing defeat to wildcard Lois Boisson.

It wasn't a great build-up to Wimbledon, with Andreeva losing her opening match in Berlin and second match in Bad Homberg, but the teenage has swiftly regained her composure on the big stage.

Andreeva hasn't dropped a single set in her four victories over Mayar Sherif, Lucia Bronzetti, Hailey Baptiste and Emma Navarro to make a maiden Wimbledon quarter-final.

The Russian was comprehensive in a 6-2 6-3 dispatch of Navarro, converting six of her seven break points to register her 10th top 10 scalp of 2025.

Belinda Bencic Form

Bencic comes into this showdown with a 25-10 record on the season, shooting back up the rankings from outside the top 900 at the end of 2024 to a current mark of No. 35.

The Swiss started the year strongly by reaching the R16 at the Australian Open, winning the Abu Dhabi title and making the quarter-finals of Indian Wells.

However, Bencic was only able to win three matches from Charleston to Bad Homburg due to injury, which also forced her to pull out of Roland Garros.

The 28-year-old has seemingly recovered, making a surprise run to a first Wimbledon quarter-final with three-set wins over two players ranked outside the top 100 in Elsa Jacquemot and Elisabetta Cocciaretto, along with taking out Alycia Parks and Ekaterina Alexandrova in straights.

Verdict

Bencic has needed three sets to beat two players ranked outside the top 100 this tournament, while Andreeva has surged into the quarter-finals without dropping a single set.

Andreeva is in better form right now and I'm backing a straight sets triumph for the teenager.
