The Russian's highlights for 2025 include a runner-up finish in Strasbourg, semi-finals in Berlin and Adelaide and a fourth round run at Roland Garros.

Always dangerous on grass, Samsonova showcased she's capable of troubling anyone on this surface as she toppled Pegula and Osaka on her way to the Berlin semi-finals. However, the 26-year-old also demonstrated her inconsistency, losing in the opening round of her s-Hertogenbosch title defence to qualifier Carson Branstine.

Samsonova's best result at Wimbledon came back in 2021 when she made the fourth round.

Joint has played tons of tennis this season and comes into this showdown with a 38-16 record at all levels.

Currently at a career-high ranking of No. 41 and rising, Joint has been one of the breakthrough stars on the WTA Tour in 2025, capturing two titles in Rabat and Eastbourne last week.

The 19-year-old was also a semi-finalist in Hobart and quarter-finalist in Merida, where she secured her only top 20 win over Donna Vekic.

Joint swiftly showcased her talents easily translate to grass at Eastbourne, beating the likes of Ons Jabeur, Emma Raducanu, and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova before saving four championship points against fellow breakout star Alex Eala.
