Emma Raducanu vs Marketa Vondrousova Tips, Prediction & Live Stream - Battle of Grand Slam champions in R2

This promises to be a cracking contest, with Vondrousova in resurgent form after injury and Raducanu looking to continue her solid progress lately under Mark Petchey. Raducanu defeated Vondrousova on her Grand Slam debut at Wimbledon back in 2021 as she made the R16 before famously going on to win her maiden major title at the US Open, becoming the only qualifier in the Open Era to secure Grand Slam silverware. Vondrousova meanwhile stunned the world with her 2023 triumph at the All England Club, but cruelly various injuries have seen her barely feature at the top of the game since.

Vondrousova had only played five tournaments since Wimbledon last year before arriving in Berlin, where she conquered the likes of Madison Keys and Aryna Sabalenka to win the title. If the Czech maintains that sort of level, then she has the edge in this encounter - but Raducanu won't go down without a fight.

Vondrousova leads 2-1. As mentioned, Raducanu won their first meeting at Wimbledon 2021 before Vondrousova responded with a 6-1 6-1 win at the 2022 Billie Jean Cup and a 6-3 6-4 triumph in Abu Dhabi earlier this season.

Raducanu comes into this contest with a 17-13 record on the season, maintaining her spot inside the top 50 at a current ranking of World No. 40.

After winning just three matches across the opening two months of the season, Raducanu has found some solid form, including making the Miami Open quarter-finals and reaching the fourth round in Rome.

The Brit made the quarter-finals of Queen's Club and the second round of Eastbourne in her warm-up to Wimbledon.

Raducanu was dealt a favourable opening round draw at Wimbledon, easing past countrywoman and teenage wildcard Mingge Xu 6-3 6-3, improving her record in the first round of majors to a stellar 11-2.

Vondrousova obviously hasn't played too many matches in 2025 and heads into this second round showdown with a 12-5 record.

Injuries have constantly prevented Vondrousova from fulfilling her potential over the last few years, but when fit, she's proven how much of a destructive force she can be.

Limited to a handful of tournaments since Wimbledon last year, Vondrousova arrived in Berlin and blitzed a field consisting of nine top 10 players, conquering the likes of Sabalenka and Keys on her way to the title.

Vondrousova received a tough opening round draw at Wimbledon against McCartney Kessler, who herself won a grass title in Nottingham before The Championships. The 26-year-old remained cool after blowing a 5-1 lead in the second set, closing out a 6-1 7-6 victory.
