It's been upsets galore across a chaotic first three days at Wimbledon and another big shock could play out on the graveyard Court 2 here. De Minaur is defending quarter-final points at Wimbledon, but the Aussie hasn't been anywhere near his best lately, losing half of his last six matches and speaking of burnout, both physically and mentally. The Demon received a great draw in his Wimbledon opener, but this is a step up.
Cazaux is capable of top 20 tennis and only persistent fitness setbacks have prevented him from progressing up the rankings. The 22-year-old has taken a set in his last two matches vs top 20 players and beat Holger Rune at the Australian Open last year to reach the R16. He's a serious player and after coming through qualifying, he's won four matches at The Championships, so he's battle-hardened. I'm backing Cazaux to win at least one set as the best bet and why not back the Frenchman to win at $8.00 in a Wimbledon full of upsets...
Head To Head
This will be the first career meeting between the pair.
Alex de Minaur Form
De Minaur comes into this clash with a 28-12 record on the season, with only Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev winning more matches in 2025.
However, has all that winning come at a cost? De Minaur declared after his five-set defeat to Alexander Bublik at the French Open that he was suffering from burnout and had lost a bit of passion for the sport.
Still without a title this season, despite all the victories, de Minaur warmed up for Wimbledon by suffering a crushing straight sets defeat to Jiri Lehecka in the opening round of Queen's Club.
Under pressure to perform this tournament after making the quarter-finals last year, de Minaur received one of the kindest possible opening round draws against Roberto Carballes Baena, who has a 1-6 record at Wimbledon. The Aussie prevailed 6-2 6-2 7-6 to move into the second round.
Arthur Cazaux Form
Cazaux heads into this showdown with a negative 4-6 record at tour-level in 2025, seeing his ranking drop outside the top 100 and forcing him to compete on the Challenger Tour.
The 22-year-old reached a career-high ranking of No. 63 last year after making the Australian Open fourth round and the R16 of the Paris Masters, where he defeated players like Holger Rune and Ben Shelton.
However, constant fitness setbacks have seen Cazaux struggle to back up those big wins and the prodigious talent he undeniable possesses.
A flashy and enigmatic player, Cazaux has sometimes struggled with the Challenger Tour and it's lack of atmosphere.
However, Cazaux could be building towards something significant at Wimbledon - he successfully qualified for the main draw before conquering another Aussie in Adam Walton, steamrolling his opponent 6-1 in the fifth set.

Verdict
Cazaux has troubled various top 20 players over the last 12 months and has all the momentum coming into this clash, with de Minaur below his best and under pressure to defend QF points.
I'm backing Cazaux to win a set and it wouldn't be overly surprising if another upset played out on Court 2.
