Our race-by-race preview for Adelaide's feature card can be found below.
Race 1 - 11:52AM Winning Edge Presentations Handicap Tips (2009m)
Best: 10. Party Crasher. With two scratching's in the SA Derby, Global Eclipse (odds-on fav) is likely going to the Group 1.
That omission should see Beach Pad and Party Crasher fight for favouritism, and the latter could have the most upside.
After breaking through over 1600m, he was only grabbed late when back to 1400m for a three-year-old feature at Oakbank.
Value: 3. Manzala. This veteran was a useful Adelaide stayer when firing and his third-up effort at Oakbank was an improvement.
Manzala is on the comeback trail from a long layoff and this is a decent drop in grade from that most recent appearance.
With blinkers reapplied and now with three runs completed, Manzala is open to further improvement this Saturday.
Race 2 - 12:27PM Sportsbet Handicap Tips (1050m)
Best: 5. Albertville. He had surgery to both hind legs, which explains the absence following his debut in November 2023.
The Clinton McDonald-trained galloper has won both appearances this prep and Jamie Melham has been aboard each time.
The form around Albertville hasn't been flash, but his last win was soft and he ran the second-fastest last 200m of the card.
Value: 10. Magic Field. After mixing form in three runs over his first prep, Magic Field progressed over a long second campaign.
After running into Dreamzel (subsequent Melbourne winner) fresh, the gelding recorded back-to-back wins last June.
There's been a stack winners come from the races he contested late in that last prep and he makes own luck on the speed.
Race 3 - 1:02PM Sportsbet Jockey Watch Handicap Tips (1050m)
Best: 4. Invertational. It's been a quiet autumn for the Clarken & O'Shea yard, but they've got strong chances this Saturday.
Invertational is an interesting runner, a mare who is on SA debut and the proven fresh performer has been working well.
She beat Danny's St Darcy first-up last spring, a sprinter who was then Group-placed twice and also a Listed winner in December.
Value: 5. Truly Elsa. Many horses don't handle the unique Oakbank track and Truly Elsa had been very consistent prior to that.
The filly arrived to her last appearance off back-to-back wins and she hadn't missed the top four before her Oakbank display.
Truly Elsa beat Karavas last spring, a handy filly who was twice stakes-placed that prep and Karavas saluted two starts later.
Race 4 - 1:37PM Sportsbet Fast Form Adelaide In Autumn Series Final Tips (1600m)
Best: 7. Under The Cone. Mark Zahra recorded a treble on last Saturday's card and he takes the ride on Under The Cone.
Fresh at 1200m, the four-year-old was in need of the run and he progressed off that when recording a brave second-up win.
The runner-up won her next start, while there's still upside with Under The Cone, who is only third-up for this mile attempt.
Value: 10. Japanese Emperor. He promised a lot early, with a stylish debut victory and he was Group 1-placed at start four.
The ex-Victorian has now completed two runs for the Clarken & O'Shea stable and he was 1000m to 1400m second-up.
Fitness gave out late in his Oakbank attempt, but it was an improved effort and he could be ready peak third-up at 1600m.
Race 5 - 2:12PM David 'DT' Thomas Memorial Provincial Pathways Final Tips (1800m)
Best: 7. Collated. Tough race, as there's nothing between The Golden Fist and Navy Gold going off their last two clashes.
The only other single figure hope is Fine Future, who is probably the class runner of the field, but he hasn't won past 1400m.
Collated is a big, raw galloper who is still putting it all together, but he does have some talent and he should eat up 1800m.
Value: 5. The Last Dance. He's won four races on the Port Lincoln circuit this season and the last victory was the pick of them.
The Last Dance saluted over 1750m despite covering ground and his hat-trick attempt was via the Penola Cup on April 20.
He was travelling well up front in that last outing, but when the sprint ehen on, the gelding didn't let down on a Heavy 8.
Race 6 - 2:47PM HKJC World Pool Port Adelaide Cup Tips (2500m)
Best: 2. Basilinna. It could be a big day for Emma-Lee & David Browne, who also prepare Garnacho and Statuario (Derby fav).
Basilinna heads the market for the Port Adelaide Cup and the mare caught the eye on return when saluting at The Valley.
She responded from a flat second-up run and while there's queries at the distance, Basilinna is the class horse in a thin race.
Value: 6. Dixie Whistler. Her fourth-up performance was a cracker, where Dixie Whistler made ground in a fast-run race.
The daughter of Rebel Raider ran the fastest last 400m and 200m of that Oakbank event, which will top her off nicely.
Dixie Whistler is one of the proven stayers in the field, with three wins and seven placings from 15 attempts over 2500m.
Race 7 - 3:25PM Adelaide Galvanising Industries Adelaide Guineas Tips (1600m)
Best: 1. Somewhere. His last jump-out was plain and as a result, Somewhere was hard to gauge ahead of the Bendigo Guineas.
On a leaders track, fitter rivals who filled the top four all settled in the first few pairs and nothing passed this youngster in the run to the line.
It was a pass mark for Somewhere, who arguably should've won the Sandown Guineas following a terrific debut win.
Value: 4. Didn't Miss Many. A stablemate to Somewhere, Didn't Miss Many arrives to the Listed Adelaide Guineas third-up.
After a second to Happy Link (last horse to beat Treasurethe Moment), the colt won at starts two and three before a spell.
He ran the fastest last 400m and 200m of his fresh event, while he picked up again late despite losing as a $2 fav second-up.
Race 8 - 4:05PM Thomas Farms South Australian Derby Tips (2500m)
Best: 2. Statuario. John Allen has ridden four of the last nine South Australian Derby winners and the Irishman has the key engagement of Statuario, who heads the market.
It's nearing D-Day for the grey last time out when contesting the Galilee Series Final and he relished the rise in trip to land that 2400m feature.
Although a testing 2500m is an unknown for Statuario, he's the most brilliant horse in this line-up and he can use his turn-of-foot on good ground from a low draw.
Next Best: 8. Lavalier. The Godolphin galloper is well bred, with Lavalier a younger sibling to five stakes winners and that includes Epaulette and Helmet (both Group 1 winners).
With runner-up finishes via his last two outings, the son of Microphone has been building well and he's got the platform to attack this staying journey.
Lavalier produced the best Derby trial in last Saturday's Chairman's Stakes and Jamie Melham has been aboard for his last three appearances.
Value: 5. Saint Emilion. While the prep didn't begin well, with Saint Emilion freshened and gelded following a return flop in the CS Hayes Stakes, he appears to be back on track.
The Ciaron Maher-trained galloper bounced off a Carbine Club Stakes tilt at Randwick to finish fourth-of-fifteen in the Chairman's Stakes last week.
He lacked the change up speed to win that event, but Saint Emilion still stuck to the task well and he could be peaking just in time for the South Australian Derby.
Race 9 - 4:40PM Grand Syndicates Festival State Sprint Series Final Tips (1200m)
Best: 11. Hajra. She won three of her first four outings in Adelaide before failing at Listed level on soft ground last winter.
On return, Hajra chased well for third behind Watchme Win (Group 3 winner last Saturday) and Zanthorn (won his next start).
She didn't love Oakbank, but her second-up run at Listed level was encouraging and Hajra is perfectly placed back in grade.
Value: 1. Easy Campese. Easy Campese would prefer a little more ground, but he'll be there at the end of a strong six furlongs.
The honest seven-year-old was unlucky first-up (should've won) and he was good from off the speed second-up at Oakbank.
He ran the fastest last 600m of his latest event and Easy Campese has been consistent since joining the Sarah Rutten yard.
