Contested as the Inglis Sires’ since 2014, the Sires’ Produce Stakes is run over 1400m at Royal Randwick and is the first Group 1 on Day 1 of The Championships.
First run in 1867, with eventual Melbourne Cup winner Glencoe taking out the inaugural edition, notable early winners include Ajax and Tulloch, while Octagonal, Sebring, Pierro and Anamoe headline the modern era.

The Golden Slipper effort was full of merit, sticking on as the lone on-speed runner in a race that was set up for those sweeping from the back.
The daughter of Magnus was still right there at the finish as runner-up, with Guest House enjoying the perfect run in transit to prove too sharp.
Ben Melham should have Streisand on speed again, and the filly is the one to beat in a competitive Inglis Sires’.

Alibaba shapes as the forgotten runner with strong Melbourne form that has not been fully exposed in Sydney.
A midfield finish in the Blue Diamond Stakes came in a race shape that did not suit, following a trip north for the Inglis Millennium over 1100m at Randwick.
That Millennium run should have resulted in victory at a big price after being badly held up before charging late once clear.
