Mr Brightside lost no admirers via a narrow first-up loss in the CF Orr Stakes, where the seven-year-old was reeled in by Another Wil and he atoned second-up with victory in the Futurity Stakes.

The nine-time Group 1 winner has contested three editions of the All-Star Mile, which includes a win in 2023 and he was runner-up behind Pride Of Jenni in 2024, where he was a $2 favourite.

At $2.90 with PlayUp, Mr Brightside heads the market for the 2025 All-Star Mile.

Another Wil ($4.40) recorded his first Group 1 win in the CF Orr Stakes, where the Ciaron Maher-trained galloper got the better of Mr Brightside late in that 1400m feature.

While his last five victories have come in the 1400m-1500m range, the son of Street Boss is a three-time winner at 1600m and all of those triumphs have come by big margins.

Tom Kitten ($6) is a genuine All-Star Mile contender following his unlucky return in the Futurity Stakes annd the Godolphin galloper will be suited up in distance second-up.

With a good record at Flemington (four wins and three placings from 10 starts), Atishu ($7.50) will have her fair share of admirers.

Her last victory came in spring at Group 1 level, where Atishu was successful over this track/trip via the Empire Rose Stakes.

All-Star Mile Winners

While the prizmoney has been cut, with the All-Star Mile now a $2.5 million event, this feature has received Group 1 status and it will now run alongside the Newmarket Handicap at Flemington to help form the new 'Super Saturday' program moving forward.

The All-Star Mile will enter its seventh running in 2025 and arguably the most popular winner to date was in the inaugural edition (2019), where Tasmanian Mystic Journey completed an Australian Guineas/All-Star Mile double, with connections paying only $11,000 as a yearling for the Adam Trinder galloper.

Zaaki (2022), Mr Brightside (2023) and Pride Of Jenni (2024) have won the last three editions of the All-Star Mile.
