Meanwhile, Paolini had been enduring a season to forget, but after dropping the first set of her opening round at Wimbledon 0-6 to Robin Montgomery, she's re-discovered some of her best tennis, beating the likes of Maria Sakkari and Alexandra Eala to return to the quarter-finals.

After recovering from injury, Kostyuk has been on fire across Europe, winning 21 of her last 22 matches, including claiming titles in Rouen and Madrid, along with reaching a first Grand Slam semi-final at Roland Garros.
Kostyuk opted for rest and didn't play any lead-in tournaments on grass, but she's made the transition seamlessly to continue her red-hot form.
The 24-year-old eased past Nadia Podoroska 6-1 6-2 in her opening round before completing three-set victories over Anna Blinkova and Emma Navarro. Kostyuk then defeated qualifier Ashlyn Krueger 6-4 6-4 to reach her first ever grass-court quarter-final at tour-level.

The 30-year-old looked set for another early exit when she copped a first set bagel in the opening round against Robin Montgomery, but Paolini staged a brilliant comeback to prevail in three before knocking off Viktorija Golubic and Maria Sakkari in three sets.
Paolini then ended the run of young gun Alexandra Eala in the R16, prevailing 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 and winning 18 of 27 points at the net.
