It's the World No. 12 up against the World No. 13 as Linda Noskova and Marta Kostyuk clash in the Wimbledon semi-finals on Thursday, with the winner making a maiden major final and finishing the tournament inside the top 10.

Kostyuk has produced an extraordinary and consistently high level of tennis since the start of April, winning 22 of her last 23 matches, with 10 of those coming at Grand Slams after also reaching the Roland Garros semi-finals last month. She is bidding to become the first Ukrainian in the Open Era to make the Wimbledon final and surged into the semis after dropping just five games against Jasmine Paolini in the last eight.

Meanwhile, Noskova has continued her fine form on grass after winning the WTA 500 title in Berlin last month, advancing into her first major semi-final following a straight sets victory over Elise Mertens.

Both players are confident and in good form, but I have to give the edge to Kostyuk here. She's barely put a foot wrong this year and has only lost to Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina and Mirra Andreeva when fit in 2026. I don't quite put Noskova at that level just yet, while the Czech is more prone to inconsistency and she can suffer concentration lapses at times. She also failed to convert nine of 11 break points against Mertens, showcasing her struggles on pressure points, which would only be amplified in a first major semi-final.

So I'm taking Kostyuk to prevail and for her to complete the win in straight sets. However, I do like Noskova to serve the most aces and there's great odds of $2.95 at Unibet compared to just $2.35 at Ladbrokes. Noskova served four more aces than Kostyuk in their respective quarter-finals and also out-aced the Ukrainian in their only previous meeting in Madrid earlier this year.

Noskova has put together an outstanding season and she will confirm her spot inside the top 10 with a win here.

The 21-year-old reached the Indian Wells semi-finals and Madrid quarter-finals before claiming her second WTA title on the grass courts of Berlin.

That Berlin breakthrough proved ideal preparation for Wimbledon, where Noskova has now reached the semi-finals of a slam for the first time.

She started with a straight-sets win over Ella Seidel, then battled past Camila Osorio and Sorana Cirstea in three sets. Noskova saved her sharpest display for the fourth round, taking down Madison Keys 6-4 7-6 before a similar 6-3 7-5 victory over a resurgent Elise Mertens in the quarter-finals.

Noskova was unplayable at times, but her level also fluctuated a lot during the win, while she would want to work on her break point conversion rate, which ended at 2/11.

Kostyuk has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in 2026. Outside of an injury-hampered first-round exit at the Australian Open, her only defeats have come against elite opposition in Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina and Mirra Andreeva.

Returning from that January setback, the Ukrainian has been one of the form players on tour, winning 22 of her last 23 matches since the start of April. That purple patch includes WTA titles in Rouen and Madrid, along with a maiden Grand Slam semi-final appearance at Roland Garros.

Rather than play a warm-up event, Kostyuk headed straight to Wimbledon after taking time to recover, and the decision has paid off.

The 24-year-old cruised past Nadia Podoroska 6-1, 6-2 in the opening round before grinding out three-set wins over Anna Blinkova and Emma Navarro. She then produced another polished display to beat qualifier Ashlyn Krueger 6-4, 6-4.

Kostyuk then produced her best performance of the tournament to ease past former Wimbledon finalist Jasmine Paolini 6-3 6-2 in just 69 minutes, striking 19 winners and winning 90 per cent of points behind her first serve. Kostyuk went 0-3 on grass last year, but has now advanced to her first semi-final on the lawns at Wimbledon.
