Coco Gauff and Karolina Muchova face off in the Wimbledon semi-finals in a matchup that highlights exceptional resilience and skill on grass. Gauff, the youngest since 2007 to reach all Grand Slam semis, leads their head-to-head 6-1 and is favored to prevail, despite arriving on a grass-losing streak. Muchova, riding high after beating Naomi Osaka, brings variety and power but faces a historically difficult matchup. Expect a competitive battle with multiple service breaks and potential for another three-setter. Gauff is tipped to win, continuing her dominance over Muchova.

Coco Gauff vs Karolina Muchova Wimbledon Tips, Prediction & Live Stream

Coco Gauff will be aiming to extend her dominant record over Karolina Muchova when the pair square off in the Wimbledon semi-finals on Thursday.

By reaching the final four at Wimbledon, both Gauff and Muchova have now advanced to at least the semi-finals of all four Grand Slam tournaments. Gauff is the youngest player to achieve this feat since 2007, while Muchova is the fourth Czech player in the Open Era to do so.

Arriving at Wimbledon on a four-match grass losing streak, Gauff has battled her way into the semi-finals on the back of four straight three-setters - including edging out countrywoman Jessica Pegula in the previous round. Meanwhile, Muchova became the first player to defeat Naomi Osaka in a major quarter-final, with the Japanese player a previous 5-0 before the Czech defeated her in straight sets.

Muchova has the perfect game for grass with her throwback style and tremendous variety, where she can blend power, slice and spins. However, this has proven to be a horror matchup for her and I have to side with Gauff as the underdog.

Gauff has won six of the seven previous meetings - even when she's been playing terribly, she's found a way to beat Muchova, including a 6-1 6-1 beatdown in Miami earlier this year. Gauff has this amazing ability to stay in matches and fight her way into a contest even when she's down on form - that's exactly what she's done in winning four consecutive matches in a deciding set this tournament.

So I'm taking Gauff to make it seven wins over Muchova at plus money here, while another three-setter also appeals. With Gauff an exceptional returner but also prone to have horror serving days, I will also play Over 5.5 service breaks, which has repeatedly landed in this matchup.
  • Gauff has won six of the seven previous meetings
  • Two of the last three meetings have gone three sets
  • Gauff has seen three sets in 18 of her last 26 matches
  • Muchova has a 1-3 record in major semi-finals
  • Gauff has won nine of her last 11 semi-final matches
  • Over 5.5 service breaks has landed in six of the seven previous meetings
  • Gauff has broken serve 23 times and lost serve 12 times in her five matches this tournament

Gauff vs Muchova Head To Head

Gauff leads 6-1. This will be their first meeting on grass, with Muchova taking the most-recent in three sets on the clay of Stuttgart.

Coco Gauff Form Analysis

  • 2026 Record: 31-11
  • Wimbledon Record: 16-6
  • Current Ranking: No. 7
  • Career-High Ranking: No. 2 (2024)

It hasn't been a great season for Gauff as she's dropped to No. 7 in the world - but she's given herself a tremendous chance to secure a third Grand Slam title here.

Gauff is the only major champion left in the draw and after taking the US Open on hardcourt and Roland Garros on clay, she's two wins away from a third slam title on the Wimbledon lawns.

The 22-year-old had never previously been beyond the R16 at Wimbledon and was on a four-match losing streak on grass before this tournament.

However, Gauff - as is often the case - battled her way into the business end of the tournament without really playing her best tennis.

After thumping Tamara Korpatsch in her opening round, Gauff has won four three-setters on the trot against Solana Sierra, Claire Liu, Belinda Bencic and Jessica Pegula.

Gauff took her chances against Pegula in the quarter-finals, recovering from a set down and winning 5/5 break points to secure a 4-6 6-3 6-3 victory to reach a maiden Wimbledon semi-final.

Karolina Muchova Form Analysis

  • 2026 Record: 34-8
  • Wimbledon Record: 13-6
  • Current Ranking: No. 9
  • Career-High Ranking: No. 8 (2023)

Muchova has put together a great season, rising from No. 20 to No. 10, highlighted by winning the WTA 1000 title in Doha before a grass court triumph in Bad Homburg just before Wimbledon.

The Czech has fluctuated wildly at Wimbledon - before this tournament, she had made two quarter-finals, but also suffered four straight opening round exits.

That rocks or diamonds trend has continued at this event, with Muchova advancing to the semi-finals for the loss of just one set.

After easy wins over Anastasia Zakharova, Zhang Shuai and Mananchaya Sawangkaew, Muchova dropped her only set of the tournament against former Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova, digging out a 7-5 5-7 6-3 victory in the fourth round.

Muchova then became the first woman to beat Naomi Osaka in a Grand Slam quarter-final, producing a clean performance in a 7-6 6-4 victory, serving eight aces and hitting 24 winners to 21 unforced errors.
