Liverpool have a dominant record in their Anfield season openers over the years and should have too much firepower for a Nottingham Forest side who are still yet to click under new boss Oliver Glasner. Liverpool's defence remains vulnerable, so Forest can get on the scoresheet in defeat, with strikers Alexander Isak and Igor Jesus backed to strike for their respective clubs.
The Andoni Iraola era begins at Anfield in the early kick off on Saturday and Liverpool fans are used to success in this particular fixture, with the Reds having won 12 of their last 13 first home games of the season.
It wasn't a particulary convincing start to the campaign for Liverpool as they needed an injury-time penalty to salvage a 2-2 draw away to Newcastle, which also extended their run of conceding 1+ goal in seven consecutive competitive games. Defence clearly still a big issue.
Forest meanwhile haven't gotten off to an ideal start either, losing to Leeds in both the Premier League and EFL Cup over the last seven days. We all know Evangelos Marinakis has a short fuse, so Glasner will want to see some improvement soon or he could be under immediate pressure.
