Both teams are aiming for back-to-back Premier League wins after Coventry upset Nottingham Forest on the road and Newcastle held on at home to Hull before the three-week international break.
Coventry had struggled in their return to the top flight, but got a much-needed boost with that win over Forest, which lifted them off the bottom of the table.
The Sky Blues now have a good opportunity to come away with another positive result against a Newcastle side who remain unconvincing to start the season.
