This is as open as a Golden Slipper gets, but simple profile stats can be used.

Fourteen of the last fifteen winners have finished in the top three at their previous start, with Stay Inside the only exception, arriving off a fourth.

Guest House fits that bill off a third in the Blue Diamond Stakes, where there were excuses in restricted room.

The run was still raw, with previous efforts also showing over-racing and covering ground, but he has shown as much talent as any other Golden Slipper contender.

He has reportedly thrived since returning to the Sydney yard, and the draw is ideal for a galloper that needs room.

Another key stat is that eleven of the last fifteen winners have come through either the Todman or Reisling Stakes.

Chayan ticks that box after taking out the Reisling Stakes on March 7, which rated superior to the Todman on that program.

With cover and ridden off the speed, she produced a nice turn-of-foot in that last appearance.

That was not afforded in the Blue Diamond when wide and working from off the speed, which took away her finish.

With the right run off a likely strong tempo, she is one of the leading contenders.

Pembrey has shown more style than most in this field.

She bolted in on debut at Eagle Farm before having excuses when caught in traffic in the Sweet Embrace Stakes.

The Queenslander was then put on speed last start when taking out the Magic Night Stakes.

The seven-day turnaround is the query, especially for a youngster, although Kiamichi (2019) and Shinzo (2023) are recent winners off this pattern.

She will be part of the likely strong tempo up front, and Tim Clark is a good booking, a noted front-running hoop.
