The All Aged Stakes is a 1400m weight-for-age event run at Randwick, with the 2026 edition headlining the Saturday, April 18 program, and it remains one of Australia’s oldest Group 1 races.

Notable early winners include Carbine, Wakeful, Ajax (the only horse to have won three All Aged Stakes), Bernborough and Tulloch, while some of the more recent famous victors include Rough Habit, Sunline and Atlantic Jewel.

At $5 with EliteBet, Jimmysstar and Angel Capital share favouritism for the 2026 All Aged Stakes.

2026 All Aged Stakes Tips

2026 All Aged Stakes Best Bet - Angel Capital

It’s a very strong edition of the All Aged Stakes, with 12 of the 14 acceptors being Group 1 winners, and a case can be made for most of these.

Another reference to the competitiveness of this field is Magic Time being around 70/1, a prior winner of this race and a mare who was twice Group 1 placed last spring.

One of the biggest firmers in early markets has been Angel Capital, which is no surprise given the James McDonald factor.

J-Mac stays aboard following a tick-over trial on April 10, where the four-year-old was good through the line and is looking for 1400m now.

The two efforts since his fresh miss have been encouraging, the latest in the Group 1 William Reid Stakes when running the fastest last 600m of that Caulfield meeting despite working home on inferior ground.
2026 All Aged Stakes Next Best Bet - Fangirl

Fangirl had surgery earlier this preparation to remove bone chips and resumes in the All Aged Stakes ahead of a potential Queensland campaign.

As one of the premier 1400-1600m horses in the country for a number of years, the four-time Group 1 winner brings genuine class to this weight-for-age contest.

She also boasts strong fresh stats, with four wins and four placings from 10 first-up attempts.

Her Randwick record is excellent, with nine of her 12 victories coming at the track, while over this track-and-trip she has four wins and three placings from eight attempts.

Her Group 1 weight-for-age record over the Randwick 1400m reads three wins and three placings from six starts, and while resuming off a setback is a query, her latest trial was sound, she’ll get preferred Good conditions, and she has the turn-of-foot to put them away if right.
2026 All Aged Stakes Value Bet - Tom Kitten

Godolphin have three gallopers in the All Aged Stakes field for 2026, and despite being the best credentialled of that trio, Tom Kitten is the least favoured in the market of the blue runners.

After a Caulfield return victory where he defied the pattern of the meeting, followed by an All-Star Mile defence, he was going as well as ever before the Australian Cup last time.

A fast tempo at 2000m on a Soft 7 surface saw him tire late.

That run can perhaps be forgiven, especially given his modest wet track record, while his only 2000m win came as an early three-year-old, suggesting he is best kept to the 1400-1600m range.

In a very open field, he could be the forgotten runner here off one forgivable run that came with excuses, and blinkers have been applied.
